George Harrison's non-public Beatles confession to Billy Connolly – 'We have been forbidden it'

Billy continued: “[The waiter] got here again all shuffly footed, and he mentioned, ‘I imagine there’s anyone right here I ought to know.’ One of many guys who was with us pointed to George and mentioned, ‘He used to play for Manchester United.’ [The waiter] mentioned, ‘Nice can I’ve your autograph?’

“George signed it. He went away fairly pleased. And the waiter got here again and he requested me one thing. And I mentioned, ‘That’s okay man.” And I turned to George and I mentioned, ‘I really like man, you don’t need to be taught anyone’s identify. Simply name them man.’”

That is when Harrison made his confession.
