KPPG Bekasi Regency Boosts Food Security and Women’s Economy Through Crop Planting Movement and MSME Empowerment

PRIME NEWS POST

The INDONESIAN, (Bekasi)— The Women’s Unity of the Golkar Party (Kesatuan Perempuan Partai Golkar / KPPG) of Bekasi Regency has once again demonstrated its tangible contribution to society through an integrated movement combining family food security and women’s economic empowerment based on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

In a spirited monthly routine activity, KPPG Bekasi Regency, under the leadership of Sri Sugiarti, S.E., S.I.P., launched innovative programs that go beyond mere political contestation, directly addressing the real needs of the community, particularly women.

One of the breakthrough initiatives is the movement to plant secondary crops and productive plants within residential areas, including utilizing vacant land and rooftops. By planting chilies, vegetables, and fruits, KPPG encourages family food independence while helping reduce household expenses.

KPPG Bekasi Regency emphasized that this movement is not merely discourse, but has been proven through concrete actions in supporting government programs in the food security sector. These include the cultivation of corn across 34 hectares, which is soon to be harvested, the development of catfish farming with 120 tarpaulin ponds, as well as the strengthening of the livestock sector through sustainable goat and cattle farming managed by its members.

“Through KPPG, we want to invite the women of Bekasi to be more active in building independent and prosperous families, starting from simple things right at home,” said Sri Sugiarti on Monday (7/4).

Furthermore, KPPG Bekasi Regency continues to strengthen the people’s economic sector by establishing the “Bekasi Signature Souvenir Shop” (Gerai Oleh-Oleh Khas Bekasi), which serves as a showcase and marketplace for superior MSME products developed under KPPG’s guidance.

Previously, this program received full support from the Chairman of the Golkar Party Regional Board (DPD) of Bekasi Regency, H. Ahmad Marjuki, S.M., M.M., who facilitated the provision of a shop unit to serve as the marketing center for KPPG MSMEs.

“This support proves that the Golkar Party is present not only in the political sphere but also as a driver of community welfare through the people’s economy,” Sri emphasized.

More than just a sales center, the outlet will also function as a space for training and mentoring for women MSME owners, helping them become more competitive and productive.

KPPG Bekasi Regency affirmed that the role of the party’s women wing does not end during political moments but continues through concrete and sustainable programs for the community.

By combining household-based food security movements and MSME empowerment, KPPG is optimistic about creating an ecosystem that fosters independent, creative, and highly beneficial women’s empowerment.

“Insya Allah, this step serves as proof that women’s organizations can be the driving force for welfare and an inspiration for many,” concluded Sri Sugiarti.
