THE INDONESIAN, West Pasaman —The Induk Koperasi Tambang Nusantara (IKTN) of West Sumatra has successfully broken through isolated routes to deliver humanitarian aid to disaster victims in the Maligi area, West Pasaman Regency. This humanitarian mission was carried out through a strong synergy between IKTN, the Indonesian Muslim Students Association (SEMMI), the Student Executive Board of the Pasaman Barat Midwifery Academy, and the Pasaman Barat Humanitarian Collaboration.

The Head of IKTN West Sumatra, Mulyadi, expressed his gratitude upon being contacted by phone for the successful arrival of the volunteer team at the affected location.

“Praise be to God, we have successfully reached Maligi. We also call on business leaders, especially those in the mining sector who wish to contribute donations, to channel their aid through IKTN,” said Mulyadi.

The IKTN volunteer team used a BASARNAS rescue vessel and became the first group to successfully deliver aid after the area had been isolated for several days due to the disaster. Also participating in the mission were Yeni Tunida, Head of Sasak Ranah Pasisie Subdistrict; AKP Zulfikar, West Pasaman Police Chief; as well as the BASARNAS rescue team.

Upon the vessel’s arrival at the Maligi coastline, thousands of residents enthusiastically welcomed the volunteers, hoping to immediately receive food assistance. The Chairman of IKTN, Basyaruddin, reported the critical conditions on the ground.

“We have reported to the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the regional government that we have arrived in Maligi. Around 8,000 people here are currently suffering from hunger and urgently need immediate assistance,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the IKTN central volunteer team was represented by Salman Harahap, Supervisor of IKTN, and Elhan Zakaria, Advisor to IKTN.

This humanitarian mission is expected to serve as a catalyst for national solidarity, ensuring that continuous aid reaches the people of Maligi until conditions fully recover.
