The INDONESIAN, (Jakarta)– The Second Grand Deliberation (MUBES II) of the Keluarga Ureung Pidie (KUPI) organization has appointed Dr. H. Asfifuddin, SH., MH as Chairman of KUPI for the 2026–2030 term by acclamation. The decision was made during the Second Plenary Meeting held at the Hall of Wisma PP TIM in Jakarta, with full support from all participants.
This unanimous appointment marks not only a transition in leadership but also signals new hope for strengthening KUPI’s role as a unifying platform for the people of Pidie — one that delivers tangible benefits in social welfare, education, economic development, and human resource advancement.
Under the meeting’s resolution, Dr. H. Asfifuddin was also appointed as the sole formator, granted the authority to structure the new KUPI management board for the 2026–2030 period within a maximum period of one month. This mandate is expected to result in a professional, inclusive, and responsive leadership team that addresses the community’s needs.
The newly elected chairman emphasized that KUPI must evolve beyond being merely a social network, and instead become an organization capable of responding to the various social challenges facing the people of Pidie in the modern era.
“KUPI must serve as a large gathering place that brings together all the potential of the people of Pidie to contribute to regional progress, strengthen education for the younger generation, create opportunities for economic empowerment, and expand social activities whose benefits are directly felt by the community,” said meeting participants following the plenary session.
Delegates expressed confidence that Dr. H. Asfifuddin has the capacity to strengthen organizational unity while building partnerships with government bodies, businesses, academics, and community groups. Such collaboration is seen as essential to developing programs that directly improve the welfare of the people of Pidie.
Beyond expanding the network of Pidie residents living across different regions, KUPI is also expected to become a center for strategic initiatives in education, scholarship support, MSME development, social assistance, and guidance for young people to better prepare them for global challenges.
The Second Grand Deliberation was held in a spirit of kinship and unity. Under its new leadership, KUPI is expected to play an even more active role as a bridge connecting the community’s potential with development opportunities that can improve well-being in a sustainable manner.
