Elly Yuniarti Calls for National Consolidation Based on Tradition and Spirituality: “United We Stand, Divided We Fall”

PRIME NEWS POST

The INDONESIAN (Jakarta)— Amidst the increasingly complex dynamics and challenges facing the nation, the call to return to the roots of unity based on custom, culture, and spiritual values has resurfaced. This message was delivered by Her Excellency Dra. Elly Yuniarti, former Head of Sub-Directorate for Art and Cultural Resilience at the Directorate General of Politics and General Government, Ministry of Home Affairs.

Through her reflective statement, Elly emphasized that Indonesia’s future is highly dependent on the ability of all elements of the nation to maintain harmony between state law, customary values, and spiritual awareness as the foundation of national life.

Opening her message with a meaningful greeting, she stated:

“Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. To my beloved brothers and sisters, children of Mother Indonesia wherever you are, let us gather and stand firmly united. Divided we will surely fall. Let us work together, like fingers and shoulders that support one another. We are in the process of fulfilling the mandate of Allah SWT, God Almighty, to live a life that is true, precise, and certain. Towards eternal world peace in the 21st century, a noble civilization of national culture that is a mercy to all nations (rahmatan lil ‘alamin).”

This call reaffirms the importance of the spirit of gotong royong (collective work) as the nation’s identity that must never fade. Elly likened togetherness to a single, supporting unit—symbolizing collective synergy in carrying out the divine mandate to create a just and civilized society.

Furthermore, she highlighted the importance of strengthening the role of the Mahkamah Keteraturan Bhineka Tunggal Ika (MKBTI) and the Mahkamah Keteraturan Adat Budaya Desa (MKABD) as moral and cultural instruments to restructure village leadership. According to her, the presence of competent, trustworthy, and integrity-driven village leaders is key to maintaining social stability at the grassroots level.

In the context of law enforcement, Elly stressed the need for harmony between the Board of Consultants and the Panel of Voluntary Judges to strengthen the government’s protection of substantive justice in Indonesia. She emphasized that positive law cannot stand alone without being supported by customary values and local wisdom that live within society.

These strategic ideas and messages were also conveyed at the Communication Forum of the Indonesian Council of Customary Institutions (MAI), attended by Kings, Sultans, Datuks, Queens, and customary leaders from across the archipelago. This forum serves as a vital momentum to strengthen national consolidation based on tradition, acting as the nation’s moral balance.

Elly even views the current condition as a crucial phase towards the “Eternal World Civilization,” where Indonesia is expected to emerge as a center of values embodying rahmatan lil ‘alamin, prioritizing peace, justice, and the nobility of national culture.

In closing, she invited all citizens to unite not only physically but also to align their hearts, intentions, and spirituality within the framework of belief in One Supreme God.

“Greetings Red and White. Arrahman Arrahim. Wujudullah, Nurullah, Sifatullah, Sirrullah. May all prayers, love, and affection become eternal energy of love under the protection of God, the Lord of all,” she concluded.
