THE INDONESIAN — The Freestyle Boxing Organisation (FBO) Indonesia continues to strengthen its commitment to developing martial arts in the country by embracing various groups, including celebrities and influential public figures. Following the official announcement of actor and public figure Okan Kornelius joining the organization, FBO Indonesia is now preparing to engage more young artists who share the same passion and vision for advancing martial arts in Indonesia.
Chairman of FBO Indonesia, Ferdinand Weimar DJ, stated that Okan Kornelius’ involvement marks only the beginning of FBO’s broader mission to expand its reach and increase the popularity of martial arts among the younger generation.
> “We are very pleased and proud to welcome Okan Kornelius as part of the FBO Indonesia family. His presence will bring new energy and enthusiasm to our organization,” Ferdinand said.
He further emphasized that FBO Indonesia remains open to collaborating with more young artists interested in contributing to the growth of martial arts.
> “We strongly believe that with support from various parties, including celebrities and public figures, FBO Indonesia will become more widely recognized and embraced by the public,” he added.
In addition to celebrity support, FBO Indonesia has also received strong backing from one of Indonesia’s living MMA legends, Yohan Mulia Legowo, Head Coach of HAN Academy Solo, who is well known for producing champions in the One Pride competition. His involvement highlights FBO Indonesia’s serious commitment to developing high-potential martial artists across the country.
As an initial step, FBO Indonesia will host its first official event titled “FB Boxing Duel Under 56Kg” alongside “FB GAM”, scheduled for December 13, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM (WIB) until completion, to be held at Pulo Raya II No.6, Petogogan, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
The event will feature opening remarks from the organizing committee and board of patrons, a joint prayer, a traditional tumpeng-cutting ceremony as a symbol of gratitude and blessing, followed by networking sessions and entertainment.
Furthermore, the FBO series will continue with the inaugural Chairman’s Championship Belt Tournament, which is set to take place in Solo on January 25, 2026.
