The Indonesian (Banten) – The Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Republic of Indonesia Student and Youth Movement (GMPRI) has expressed highest appreciation to Riyan Hidayat, S.Sos, a member of the Banten Provincial Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) from the National Mandate Party (PAN) faction representing Tangerang Electoral District. The recognition is for his commitment and seriousness in gathering public aspirations through a recess program held at 16 locations across Tangerang Regency.

The GMPRI DPP Chairman stated that Riyan Hidayat’s initiative demonstrates a tangible presence of a people’s representative among the public, rather than a mere political formality. The multi-location recess was deemed effective in directly collecting complaints, needs, and hopes of residents that have often been overlooked.

“GMPRI commends Mr. Riyan Hidayat’s performance in engaging directly with the community. Conducting recess at 16 locations is no small feat – it shows genuine dedication to listening to and advocating for the aspirations of Tangerang Regency residents,” the GMPRI DPP Chairman emphasized in a statement.

The appreciation also acknowledges the constitutional legitimacy and process that brought Riyan Hidayat into his position as a Banten Provincial DPRD member through the Interim Replacement (PAW) mechanism. The Banten Provincial DPRD officially implemented the PAW for the PAN faction seat during a plenary session on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, with Riyan Hidayat replacing Ahmad Farizi.

Riyan Hidayat’s oath-taking ceremony was led directly by the Banten Provincial DPRD leadership and conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. With his inauguration, he continues the remaining term left by Ahmad Farizi.

Banten Provincial DPRD Speaker Fahmi Hakim extended congratulations and expressed hope that Riyan Hidayat would carry out his mandate with full responsibility.

“I congratulate Mr. Riyan Hidayat on his official inauguration as a Banten Provincial DPRD member through the PAW mechanism. I hope he will quickly adapt, understand the DPRD’s duties and functions, and fulfill his mandate with full responsibility for the benefit of Banten’s people,” said Fahmi Hakim.

In line with this, the PAN faction of the Banten Provincial DPRD hopes that Riyan Hidayat’s presence will strengthen the legislative body’s performance – particularly in carrying out its legislative, budgetary, and oversight functions – while making meaningful contributions to development and improving public service quality in Banten Province.

GMPRI emphasized that consistent field engagement and courage to advocate for people’s aspirations must be maintained as the core spirit of democracy. “A good people’s representative is one who is present, listens, and acts. What Riyan Hidayat has done is worthy of being an example,” the GMPRI DPP Chairman concluded.
