The INDONESIAN —The Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Student and Youth Movement (DPP GMPRI) has expressed its full support and high appreciation for the decisive action taken by Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Insp. Gen. Asep Edi Suheri, S.IK., M.Si., in naming several individuals as suspects in the case related to alleged fake diplomas of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

The Chairman of DPP GMPRI and Executive Chairman of DPP KNPI, Raja Agung Nusantara, emphasized that the legal measures taken by the Jakarta Police represent a concrete reflection of the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) integrity and courage in upholding the supremacy of law objectively and fairly, without being influenced by political pressure or public opinion.

“The firm stance of Insp. Gen. Asep Edi Suheri deserves recognition. He has demonstrated a strong commitment that the law must be enforced without discrimination, yet with professionalism and social justice at its core,” Raja Agung Nusantara stated in Jakarta, Monday (Nov 10).

According to him, the decision to name Roy Suryo and several others as suspects is proof that law enforcement must not bow to the pressure of any group but must stand on the side of truth and the constitution.

GMPRI views this step not merely as legal action against individuals but also as a lesson to the public that freedom of speech must not be abused to spread slander, defame others, or undermine the dignity of state institutions.

“Under the leadership of Insp. Gen. Asep Edi Suheri, the Jakarta Police have set an example of how the law should be enforced  with civility, without emotion, without pressure, and without discrimination,” Raja Agung added.

GMPRI also called on all elements of society, particularly students and youth, to support the Police’s efforts in preserving the integrity of law enforcement, while ensuring that the ongoing legal process proceeds transparently, professionally, and fairly.

“We urge the public not to be provoked by misleading narratives. Let us fully entrust the legal process to the competent authorities,” he concluded.

GMPRI considers the firm and objective actions of the Jakarta Police Chief as a reflection of the new face of Polri a police institution committed to defending justice and truth for all Indonesians.
