Grave Pilgrimage: Tracing Islamic History and Reflecting on Nature with Ponpes Nurul Fallah

The INDONESIAN — The delegation of Nurul Fallah Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) Cisarua, Bogor, led by Ustaz M. Hariri, conducted a grave pilgrimage to the resting places of Islamic saints as an effort to revisit the history of Islam’s spread and engage in nature reflection (tadabbur alam). The program aims to provide young generations with a deeper understanding of the struggles and contributions of past Islamic scholars.

The pilgrimage journey covered several significant sites, including the tombs of Syekh Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin and Syekh Maulana Yusuf, followed by a visit to Pulo Cangkir, the sacred site of Syekh Waliyudin. Over several days, participants will take part in a series of activities designed to enrich their historical insight and spiritual awareness.

Ustaz M. Hariri expressed his hope that this initiative will inspire young people to remember the sacrifices of past scholars and emulate the values they passed down. “May we always remember the struggles of our elders and predecessors, and continue to follow the teachings they have entrusted to us,” he said.

The grave pilgrimage is expected not only to serve as a physical journey but also as a profound spiritual experience, strengthening the connection between today’s generation and the noble historical roots and values of Islam.()
