The INDONESIAN (Jakarta)– Located in Pondok Labu, South Jakarta, the Monas Halal Center – as a Halal Product Process Assistance Institution (LP3H) – reaffirms its commitment to accelerating halal certification for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This commitment aligns with the substantial remaining quota for free halal certification provided by the government through the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH).
According to official BPJPH data, out of the total 1 million free halal certification quotas, only around 40 percent have been utilized. This means approximately 60 percent of the quota is still available for people and businesses across Indonesia.
In response to this, community figure and Monas Halal Center initiator Suhari states that assistance is the key to ensuring MSMEs not only learn about the program but are also fully able to access the halal certification process accurately, easily, and quickly.
“This momentum must be maximized by business owners. The Monas Halal Center is here to ensure people do not navigate the process alone, but receive comprehensive assistance until the halal certificate is issued,” he said on the sidelines of a Halal Bihalal event in Pondok Labu, South Jakarta (April 28).
He also emphasized that the Monas Halal Center’s initiative is not only focused on Jakarta but has expanded to reach various regions across Indonesia as part of efforts to strengthen the national halal ecosystem.
Furthermore, Ust. Suhari Monas linked this step to collaboration established with the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia’s Jakarta Regional Office. During a strategic gathering with the Head of the Jakarta Regional Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, KH. Adib, he stressed the importance of direct education at the market level.
“Strengthening efforts through religious instructors in each market makes our initiative more effective on the ground, including in assisting traders with halal certification,” he explained.
Through collaborative approaches between trader communities, the government, and assistance institutions, the Monas Halal Center is optimistic that accelerated halal certification will directly boost MSME product competitiveness while strengthening an inclusive and sustainable national economy for the community.
The Monas Halal Center also urges all businesses, particularly those in traditional markets and the MSME sector, to immediately utilize the free halal certification facility before the quota is fully used, with professional assistance available from start to finish of the process.
