Jakarta – The joint iftar (breaking of fast) event for the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri), along with the distribution of aid to orphans, took place at the Bhayangkari Field in Jakarta on Wednesday (March 11, 2026).

In his speech, National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized the importance of solidarity and synergy between TNI and Polri. This is crucial, particularly in addressing various global challenges while maintaining national security and stability.

General Sigit stated that the Ramadan period serves as an opportunity to strengthen fellowship and reinforce cooperation between the two institutions in tackling the nation’s issues. “Our hope – and the hope of us all – is that this occasion will further strengthen our bonds of fellowship and our synergy in addressing various challenges and issues facing the nation, which undoubtedly require solidarity and collaboration,” he said.

He noted that unity between TNI and Polri is essential for overcoming future challenges. “No matter how heavy the challenges we face, we can address them to the best of our ability because we are all solid and united,” stressed Kapolri Listyo Sigit.

Following the Kapolri’s speech, the event proceeded with a symbolic handover of aid to orphans, a religious lecture (Tausiah) delivered by Ustadz Abdul Hidayat, and a joint prayer led by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) General Chair K.H. Anwar Iskandar, as attendees awaited the time for breaking fast.(Red)
