The INDONESIAN, West Sumatra – The Indonesia Big Motorcycle Association (IMBI) West Sumatra Province held a social activity titled “Together for Iftar and Ramadan Charity,” distributing breaking-fast snacks (takjil) to road users and providing assistance to orphans. The caring initiative took place along Khatib Sulaiman Street, Padang City, on March 14, 2026.
The event was attended by West Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Gatot Tri Suryanta, who expressed support for the social program initiated by the big motorcycle enthusiasts’ community.
During the activity, IMBI West Sumatra members took to the streets to hand out takjil to passing motorists. The social action was a form of concern for people observing fasting, ensuring they could break their fast even while traveling.
In addition to distributing takjil to road users, IMBI West Sumatra also hosted an iftar gathering with orphans, accompanied by donations as a sign of social solidarity and care for others, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Zulkarnain, Coordinator for the Sumatra Region IMBI Central, stated that the activity was part of IMBI’s commitment to building a positive image of the big motorcycle community among the public.
“Until now, there remains a public stigma that big motorcycle communities are associated with reckless or unruly behavior on the roads. Through social activities like this, we want to show that big motorcycle enthusiasts can also be a polite community, compliant with traffic rules, and highly concerned about their social environment,” he said.
Meanwhile, Faisal, Head of IMBI West Sumatra, emphasized that the organization continues to encourage various social activities that provide tangible benefits to the community.
According to him, Ramadan is an ideal time to strengthen the spirit of togetherness, solidarity, and care for one another, while also strengthening ties between the automotive community and the broader public.
The presence of the West Sumatra Regional Police Chief at the event also symbolized support for positive automotive community activities that prioritize driving safety, traffic discipline, and social care among the public.
Separately, Secretary-General of the Indonesian Customary Council (MAI), M. Rafik Datuk Rajo Kuaso – who is also a member of IMBI – expressed appreciation for the social activity during the MAI Communication Forum, which was attended by kings, sultans, datuks, queens, and customary leaders from across the Indonesian archipelago.
He noted that the sharing initiative by IMBI West Sumatra reflects noble Nusantara cultural values that uphold the spirit of mutual cooperation, social care, and togetherness.
“The spirit of sharing with others, especially orphans and those in need, reflects the humanistic values and local wisdom that have long been part of our nation’s culture. Activities like this deserve appreciation and can serve as an example for many,” he said.
He also conveyed gratitude and hoped that the momentum of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah would further strengthen brotherhood among the public.
“May the spirit of togetherness, care, and brotherhood built through this activity be a blessing for us all. On behalf of the Indonesian Customary Council, we extend our thanks and appreciation to IMBI West Sumatra and all parties who contributed. Happy Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah – may we all return to our pure nature with clean hearts and full of peace,” he concluded.
Through this social activity, IMBI West Sumatra hopes to continue fostering a positive image of the big motorcycle community – one that not only pursues automotive hobbies but also actively contributes to social and humanitarian efforts, as well as building solidarity among the public.
