The INDONESIAN, (JAKARTA)— Conflict within an organization is not always a threat to corporate stability. When managed properly, conflict can instead serve as a vital opportunity to strengthen leadership, align vision, and drive organizational growth.
This is the core perspective put forward by Bondan Pandit Ardi in his debut book, 5 Disciplines of Conflict Navigation: A Strategic-Practical Guide to Keeping Your Organization on Course, officially launched on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Nyi Ageng Serang Jakarta Library in Kuningan, South Jakarta.
The book explores a wide range of conflict dynamics commonly faced by organizations—from differing interests across departments, headquarters–branch relations, tensions between founders and owners, and conflicts between short-term and long-term priorities, to generational differences and varying work styles.
Additional challenges such as stagnation, organizational burnout, and misaligned visions during periods of change and transformation are also addressed as key issues that leaders must effectively navigate.
The launch event was hosted by Fahmi Taufiqurrahman and Mia Marianne. Before officially unveiling the book, Bondan shared the background behind its creation and the experiences that inspired it, drawing on over 27 years of professional experience across various companies—rising from a management trainee to board-level leadership.
The session became interactive when Bondan invited five participants to take part in a role-play simulation. The exercise served as an introduction to discussing leadership mindsets in conflict situations, demonstrating how differing perspectives, interests, and approaches shape how individuals respond to conflict in the workplace.
Through 5 Disciplines of Conflict Navigation, Bondan Pandit Ardi encourages readers to view conflict not as something to be avoided, but as an inevitable reality that, when understood and managed well, keeps organizations moving toward shared goals.
The event culminated in the official book launch and a group photo with Bondan alongside two mentors who have played pivotal roles in his career development: Isabella Tanoto, former Marketing Manager of the Ice Cream Division at PT Unilever Indonesia, and Ronny Imbar, former President Director of Sasa. Their presence underscored the author’s journey in turning professional experience into lessons that can benefit a wider audience.
Following the main program, guests joined a library tour to explore the facilities and environment of the Nyi Ageng Serang Jakarta Library—a vibrant hub for literacy, learning, and the exchange of ideas. (Ed)
