DPN PERMAHI: National Stability Is the Primary Capital for Sustaining Development

PRIME NEWS POST

JAKARTA, – Azhar Sidiq S., Chairman of the National Leadership Council of the Indonesian Law Students Association (DPN PERMAHI), affirmed that all segments of society share a collective responsibility to safeguard national stability as the fundamental foundation for successful development. He noted that differing political views are natural in a democratic nation, but must never evolve into movements that disrupt public order or undermine national interests.

In a press statement delivered to media outlets, Azhar stated that all elements of the nation bear moral and constitutional obligations to maintain a conducive national environment. While diverse political perspectives are a legitimate part of democratic life, such differences must not escalate into polarization, provocation, or actions that disturb public order and national interests.

Azhar explained that the administration of President Prabowo Subianto currently faces major challenges—from strengthening the national economy, enhancing food security, and advancing downstream industrialization, to bureaucratic reform. A stable environment is therefore essential to ensure these strategic programs can be implemented optimally and deliver direct benefits to the public.

“Every administration holding a constitutional mandate must be granted the space to govern. Evaluation and criticism remain important, but must be presented objectively, based on facts, and must not develop into narratives that create national instability,” Azhar said.

He emphasized that Indonesia’s democracy not only upholds freedom of expression but also enshrines the constitutional duty to preserve national unity. Freedom of speech must never be exploited to foster polarization or shape public opinion in ways that erode trust in state institutions without valid, accountable grounds.

As an organization of law students, DPN PERMAHI believes successful national development requires synergy between the government and the public. The administration’s strategic programs must be overseen critically yet constructively to ensure the goal of improving public welfare is achieved.

Azhar argued the nation’s energy should now be directed toward resolving fundamental issues: creating jobs, improving education quality, eradicating corruption, strengthening investment, and ensuring equitable development across all regions of Indonesia.

“This nation needs collaboration, not prolonged confrontation. If every policy is viewed solely through the lens of political conflict, the nation’s energy will be exhausted by debate rather than spent delivering solutions.”

He also reminded the public to distinguish between criticism aimed at improving governance and provocation intended solely to create political unrest. In a state governed by law, all aspirations have a right to be heard, but must be expressed within constitutional boundaries and with respect for the public interest.

DPN PERMAHI stressed that supporting governmental stability does not mean abandoning society’s oversight function. On the contrary, robust stability fosters space for constructive evaluation, effective policymaking, and legal certainty—all essential to driving economic growth and improving public welfare.

In closing, Azhar called on all elements of the nation to prioritize national interests above group interests.

“Indonesia needs unity, legal certainty, and political stability so development agendas can proceed fully. Let us oversee the administration through responsible criticism, objective scrutiny, and active participation in building our nation. When stability is maintained, development has a far greater chance of delivering justice and prosperity for all people of Indonesia.”
