GMPRI Central Board Backs Tangerang Regent to Regulate and Recall All Emergency Response Vehicles Managed by Benefit Groups Without Clear Legal Status

The INDONESIAN (Tagerang)— The Central Board of the Indonesian Students and Youth Movement (DPP GMPRI) has voiced full support for Tangerang Regent Drs. H. Moch. Maesyal Rasyid, M.Si., in his move to regulate all Mobil Siaga emergency‑response units currently operated by Beneficiary Groups (KPM) alleged to lack formal legal standing.

GMPRI Chairman Raja Agung Nusantara stated that reviewing and restructuring the management of regional assets is essential to ensure governance remains transparent, accountable, and legally sound.

“If it is confirmed these vehicles are run by parties without clear legal authority, the Regency Government must act decisively: inventory, evaluate, and recall all 137 units, then reorganise their management strictly in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations,” Raja said.

“GMPRI supports the Regent in directing all relevant regional agencies to conduct a comprehensive audit and enforcement drive. We also urge close coordination with the Regional House of Representatives leadership to guarantee all public assets are managed professionally, openly, and on a firm legal footing,” he added in an official statement on 8 June 2026.

He emphasised that assets funded by the state or regional budgets must deliver maximum benefit to the community and never remain in arrangements that risk future legal or administrative disputes.

GMPRI views this clean‑up as aligned with the bureaucratic reform agenda consistently championed by the Regent to improve administrative standards and public services.

The organisation also commended the Regency Government’s achievements under Maesyal Rasyid’s leadership — most recently the Cita Daerah Appreciation Trophy in Decent Work and Local Economy from Kompas TV, recognising his commitment to strengthening grassroots economic resilience and delivering tangible development results.

The Regent is seen as consistent in driving better public services through strategic programmes: improved maternal and child healthcare, enhanced regional food security, and inclusive, sustainable development to raise general welfare.

GMPRI further praised the administration’s support for national priorities such as the Economic Census and efforts to foster unity and collaboration in pursuit of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.

“This recall and review effort is clearly part of the Regent’s broader commitment to ensure every government programme adheres to accountability, transparency, and the public interest,” Raja affirmed.

GMPRI called on all stakeholders to back the asset‑governance overhaul, so that emergency and public services continue running optimally, reach those in need, and operate with full legal certainty.
