The INDONESIAN — In his moral statement, President of the Haidar Alwi Institute, Ir. R. Haidar Alwi, MT, reminded that civil supremacy is not an option but the very foundation of a lawful and democratic nation.
“Civil supremacy is the foundation, not an option. If this foundation weakens, the nation will crumble from within,” he asserted.
According to Haidar Alwi, democracy cannot stand without upholding the rule of law and civil ethics. In a true constitutional state, law must be the commander, and the police its guardian.
“When weapons become the symbol of truth, justice loses its meaning,” he remarked
Furthermore, he emphasized that a nation’s true strength lies not in arms, but in the moral integrity and solidarity of its people. Through the movement “Rakyat Bantu Rakyat” (People Helping People), Haidar Alwi called on all elements of society to reinforce the spirit of unity, compassion, and humanity amid ongoing social challenges.
“This nation stands strong not because of fear, but because of the care and togetherness of its people,” he concluded.
