BANDUNG, WEST JAVA — In an atmosphere filled with warmth, kinship, and togetherness following Eid al-Fitr, the Canduang Koto Laweh Family Association (IKCK) of Greater Bandung held its Halal Bi Halal gathering for the extended family on Saturday, 23 May 2026, at the Mustika Wangi Hall (BMW) in Bandung City, West Java.
Attended by more than 500 members and extended family members from across the Greater Bandung area, the event proceeded with great enthusiasm and served as a vital moment to strengthen fraternal ties among migrants originating from Canduang Koto Laweh who now reside in Bandung and its surrounding regions.
Carrying the theme “Ka Ilia Sarangkuang Dayuang, Kamudiak Sa Antak Galah”, the gathering conveyed a profound message regarding the importance of mutual cooperation, unity, and togetherness in social life. This Minangkabau customary philosophy signifies that every shared goal and endeavor is achieved far more easily when carried out side-by-side, in full agreement, and moving in a single direction.
The Chairman of IKCK Greater Bandung, Zul Aidi, stated that Halal Bi Halal is not merely an annual gathering agenda, but also a means to strengthen family identity and foster positive contributions to society and the nation.
“This Halal Bi Halal event aims to strengthen bonds and kinship among the extended Canduang Koto Laweh family, particularly within the Greater Bandung region. Furthermore, this activity represents a commitment to continuously uphold the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation, wherever we may be,” Zul Aidi told reporters in Bandung.
Zul Aidi further emphasized that the values of fellowship and brotherhood must be continuously preserved as the primary foundation of the organization and the social life of the migrant community.
“It is an obligation for IKCK members, wherever they may be, to consistently prioritize, deepen, and strengthen family relationships. God willing, this Halal Bi Halal will be held annually and established as a permanent program of the IKCK organization. We must continue to foster relationships from among ourselves, by ourselves, and for the benefit of us all,” he added.
The event was also honored by the presence of representatives from IKCK Greater Jakarta, led by Syafrizal, S.E. Their attendance served to strengthen cross-regional family networks and deepen relations between communities of Canduang Koto Laweh migrants.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Eka Kurnia Putra, alongside Committee Secretary Rona Habella, expressed appreciation and gratitude to all members of the extended IKCK family, invited guests, the committee, and all parties who supported and attended the activity.
They expressed hope that this Halal Bi Halal moment would not only serve as a reunion to strengthen family ties but also become a space to reinforce customary values, preserve cultural heritage, and build a spirit of unity that benefits both current and future generations.
“Basamo mangko manjadi, barasamo mangko kuat.” — Together we form existence, together we become strong. Togetherness is strength, and fellowship is a heritage that must always be maintained.
