JANGKAR Urges KPK to Fully Investigate Alleged Corruption in Banking Notification Service Procurement; Potential State Losses Estimated at IDR 2 Trillion

PRIME NEWS POST

The INDONESIAN (Jakarta)– The Archipelago Anti-Corruption Network (JANGKAR) held a demonstration in front of the headquarters of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, expressing concern over alleged corruption in the procurement of banking notification services, which is believed to involve PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) and PT Telkom Indonesia.

During the protest, participants highlighted the potential state losses estimated to reach approximately IDR 2 trillion. If proven through due legal process, JANGKAR considers this case a serious matter concerning procurement governance at state-owned enterprises (SOEs), which could harm state finances and erode public trust in key national institutions.

Muh Zul Fian, Field Coordinator of JANGKAR, emphasized that law enforcement authorities, especially the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), must investigate the case transparently, professionally, independently, and without favoritism.

“We urge the KPK to thoroughly investigate the alleged corruption in the procurement of banking notification services, reportedly involving PT BRI and PT Telkom Indonesia. No one is above the law; anyone proven involved must be processed in accordance with applicable regulations,” Muh Zul Fian stated in his speech on Wednesday (11/6).

According to him, open and accountable handling of the case is vital to maintaining public confidence in the legal process. Therefore, JANGKAR also requested the KPK to provide regular updates to the public, ensuring legal certainty and avoiding unfounded speculation.

“The public has the right to follow developments in cases that may cause substantial losses to the state. Transparency is a core part of fair and upright law enforcement,” he added.

In its official statement, JANGKAR stressed that if state losses are legally confirmed, the full amount must be recovered through legal mechanisms as accountability to the people.

“State funds belong to the public. If losses of up to IDR 2 trillion are verified, every rupiah lost must be returned for the benefit of the people and national development,” Muh Zul Fian said.

In addition to pushing for investigation, JANGKAR called on the government, relevant ministries, and oversight bodies to conduct a comprehensive review of procurement systems and governance across SOEs. Strengthening supervision is seen as essential to prevent similar irregularities in the future.

“This case should serve as a turning point to overhaul SOE governance. Transparency, accountability, and robust oversight are the foundation for preventing corruption and safeguarding public trust in state assets,” he noted.

JANGKAR reaffirmed its commitment to supporting corruption eradication and fair, professional, and independent law enforcement. It views corruption as an extraordinary crime that directly undermines public welfare, service quality, and national development.

“We are here to guard public funds. Corruption must be given no room whatsoever. Every rupiah of state money must be accounted for in the interest of the Indonesian people,” Muh Zul Fian asserted.

The demonstration concluded with the submission of a formal statement to relevant parties, calling for a transparent and complete legal process. JANGKAR expects authorities to promptly follow up on available information within legal boundaries.

“If our demands do not receive a serious response, JANGKAR will organize further actions as part of our commitment to fighting corruption, upholding the law, and protecting public funds,” Muh Zul Fian concluded.

As of press time, the institutions named in the protest have not issued an official response regarding the allegations. The editorial team stands ready to publish right of reply statements and clarifications in accordance with prevailing laws and journalistic ethics.
