The INDONESIAN, West Nusa Tenggara – Lawyer Raidin Anom, S.H., M.H. has issued a firm statement regarding the handling of an alleged child molestation case involving a minor student reported within the jurisdiction of Bima City Police Resort.
The case was filed by the victim’s mother under report number STTLP/127/I/2026/NTB/Res Bima Kota, and has now drawn public attention following the circulation of a video statement by Raidin Anom across various social media platforms.
In his statement, Raidin Anom strongly demanded that the Bima City Police Chief directly supervise the investigation process carried out by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of Bima City Police, following reports that the suspect in the case was allegedly released unilaterally.
According to Raidin Anom, cases involving alleged violence or molestation against children are serious criminal offenses that must not be taken lightly, as they concern the protection of children’s rights guaranteed under Law Number 35 of 2014 on Child Protection, which amends Law Number 23 of 2002 on Child Protection.
“Alleged child molestation cases are not trivial matters. The state, through law enforcement agencies, has a constitutional obligation to ensure every report is handled professionally, objectively, and does not give the impression of treatment that undermines public sense of justice,” Raidin Anom emphasized on March 13, 2026.
He also stated that if the suspect was indeed released without transparent explanations to the public or the reporting party, it could potentially erode public trust in the law enforcement process.
Therefore, Raidin Anom called on the Bima City Police Chief to conduct a comprehensive evaluation and monitoring of the investigators handling the case, to ensure all legal procedures are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.
Additionally, Raidin Anom requested the involvement of state institutions mandated to protect children, particularly the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), to immediately monitor the case and provide assistance to the victim.
Based on information received, the victim is reported to have suffered trauma from the incident. According to Raidin Anom, this condition requires serious attention as the victim’s psychological recovery is an important part of legal protection for children.
“Child protection does not stop at the legal process against perpetrators, but also includes psychological and social protection for victims. The state must not neglect the condition of traumatized victims,” he said.
Raidin Anom also reminded that transparency in handling the case is crucial to maintain the integrity of law enforcement institutions and ensure public trust is preserved.
He hoped that the police would provide open explanations to the public regarding developments in the case, to prevent speculation and unrest within the community.
“Law enforcement must be based on the principles of justice, victim-centered approach, and protection of children as the nation’s future generation,” Raidin Anom concluded.
The statement has now become a public concern after the video containing Raidin Anom’s stance and demands circulated widely on social media, sparking public discussion on the importance of serious handling of sexual violence cases against children.
