The INDONESIAN (JAKARTA)– The Communication Forum of the Indonesian Traditional Councils (Forum Komunikasi Majelis Adat Indonesia), attended by Kings, Sultans, Datuks, Queens, and traditional leaders from across the archipelago on April 11, 2026, served as a crucial momentum to strengthen the values of unity and wisdom amidst increasingly complex information dynamics.
During the forum, Azis Arjoso delivered moral and spiritual appeals to all elements of the nation. With humility, he invited the public to always seek assistance from Allah SWT, praying that Indonesia be spared from misleading influences that have the potential to cause division and mutual blame within society.
“Al faqir ilallah, I invite all of us to pray that this nation remains under the protection and guidance of Allah SWT, and be kept far away from influences that mislead and divide,” stated Azis Arjoso.
Furthermore, he emphasized that in Islamic teachings, spreading false information or hoaxes is a despicable act with severe moral and spiritual consequences. The Al-Qur’an, specifically Surah An-Nur verses 11-20, explicitly warns of a severe punishment for those who spread lies and slander. Meanwhile, Surah Al-Hujurat verse 6 teaches the principle of tabayyun—the obligation to verify and clarify any information received before acting upon it.
Azis Arjoso reminded the audience that in the current digital era, unverified information can easily trigger social conflict, damage unity, and weaken the foundations of the nation. Therefore, he urged traditional leaders, scholars, and the wider community to set an example in upholding the truth, honesty, and caution.
The forum also affirmed the vital role of traditional leaders as guardians of the nation’s noble values, functioning not only as cultural symbols but also as moral guides in maintaining social harmony.
With a spirit of togetherness, this forum serves as a collective reminder that national unity must be preserved through wisdom, careful scrutiny of information, and a strong commitment to the values of truth and justice.
