PBNU Holds Kubro Assembly at Lirboyo, Reinforces NU’s Organizational Unity

PRIME NEWS POST

KEDIRI — The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) held a Kubro Assembly at Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, Kediri, East Java, on Sunday (December 21, 2025). This strategic forum was attended by the majority of PBNU officials, both in-person and virtually, as a collective effort to maintain the unity and dignity of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) organization.

The Kubro Assembly, themed “Reinforcing the Unity of the Nahdlatul Ulama Organization”, was led by KH. Ubaidillah Shodaqoh. The proceedings were solemn, orderly, and filled with the spirit of deliberation, involving representatives from PBNU, Provincial Boards (PWNU), and Branch Boards (PCNU) across various regions participating either directly or online.

During the assembly, several important decisions were made:

1. The Kubro Assembly urged both parties to pursue ishlah (reconciliation) as a resolution, with a deadline of three days at the latest, starting from 12:00 WIB on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
2. If ishlah is not achieved, the assembly requested that both parties entrust the mandate from the 34th Lampung Congress to the Mustasyar (Advisory Council) to form a neutral committee, with a deadline of one day at the latest after the ishlah period ends.
3. If the second option is not fulfilled, assembly participants agreed to hold an Extraordinary Congress (MLB). The MLB will be implemented based on an agreement among attending Provincial and Branch Boards, to be held before the departure of the first group of Hajj pilgrims.

The Kubro Assembly reaffirmed NU’s commitment to always prioritize the values of deliberation, unity, and organizational welfare in addressing all dynamics within the organization.

Representatives from PWNU DKI Jakarta present at the Kubro Assembly included:

1. KH. Muhyidin Ishak, Chairman of the Syuriyah Council of PWNU DKI Jakarta
2. KH. Samsul Ma’arif, Chairman of the Tanfidziyah Council of PWNU DKI Jakarta
3. KH. Lutfi Hakim, MA, Vice Chairman of the Tanfidziyah Council
