The INDONESIAN —In the spirit of solidarity and patriotism, the people of Padang Sidimpuan City have presented the Monument of Unity and Struggle as a heartfelt gift to mark the 74th birthday of Indonesia’s 8th President, Prabowo Subianto.
The celebration, held in the Lubuk Naga area of Padangsidimpuan, featured a thanksgiving ceremony, a traditional *tumpeng* cutting, and donations to orphans. The event was filled with emotion and pride, attended by community leaders, religious figures, local government representatives, and hundreds of residents from all walks of life.
More than a physical landmark, the monument stands as a symbol of love and respect for President Prabowo Subianto a statesman regarded by the people as a sincere fighter for national unity and public welfare.
The idea for the monument was initiated by Basaruddin, a respected community leader and gold trader who became viral in 2023 for gifting President Prabowo a diamond-studded gold ring and a bottle of perfume. This time, he once again expressed his admiration and gratitude through this monumental creation.
“We wish our beloved President Prabowo Subianto a happy 74th birthday. May he be blessed with health, long life, and strength to lead Indonesia toward greater progress,” said Basaruddin with heartfelt emotion.
As a symbol of hope and prayer, the people also presented an eight-tier giant tumpeng, representing President Prabowo’s position as Indonesia’s 8th President and symbolizing eight pillars of national prosperity: unity, welfare, justice, independence, resilience, progress, humanity, and people’s happiness.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Erwin Pulungan, on behalf of Erwin Muda Sinaga, added:
“This monument was built through gotong royong mutual cooperation. It represents love, brotherhood, and gratitude of the people of Padang Sidimpuan. We dedicate this not only to President Prabowo but also to the entire Indonesian nation.”
He also noted that the celebration coincided with the 24th Anniversary of the Padang Sidimpuan City Government making it a double moment of significance honoring both regional growth and the leadership of a national figure.
The event concluded with collective prayers for the nation’s advancement, the people’s welfare, and a heartfelt hope that the late President Soeharto will soon be officially recognized as a *National Hero* for his legacy of stability and development in Indonesian.
