Jakarta, Indonesia – President Prabowo Subianto’s firm statement regarding the Indonesia–China High-Speed Rail (KCIC) project has drawn widespread appreciation, notably from prominent youth figure Sandri Rumanama, Director of the Haidar Alwi Institute.

President Prabowo earlier reaffirmed that the KCIC project is now under the full responsibility of the Indonesian government, demonstrating a strong sense of accountability and confidence in national capability.

“I have said it clearly the President of the Republic of Indonesia takes full responsibility. There is no need for dispute. We are capable, and we are strong,” said President Prabowo Subianto.

Responding to the statement, Sandri Rumanama lauded the President’s bold decision as a display of authentic leadership and national courage.

“The President’s statement on Whoosh reflects strong leadership and character. A true leader must have the courage to take responsibility for every national challenge. We are not only proud but deeply respect and admire President Prabowo for his stance,” said Sandri Rumanama, who also serves as Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Muslim Students Association (PB SEMMI) under the Islamic Union

Sandri further emphasized that the President’s remarks must be understood as a reflection of Indonesia’s dignity and sovereignty in the eyes of the global community.

“This is a matter of national pride and shared responsibility. The President’s statement shows his dedication to upholding the country’s honor internationally,” he added.

According to Sandri, the KCIC project, as a bilateral state cooperation, requires the government’s direct involvement and accountability, beyond the technical aspects managed by corporate entities.
