PROUI Backs Prabowo’s Move to Involve Universities in Overhauling Red‑White Village Cooperative Governance and Monitoring Key Government Programs

The INDONESIAN, (Jakarta)– Dr. Kun Nurachadijat, SE, MBA, Chairman of PROUI – Prabowo for Indonesia – expressed full support for President Prabowo Subianto’s initiative to involve higher‑education institutions in improving the governance of Red‑White Village Cooperatives and overseeing the government’s priority programs.

Dr. Kun described the policy as a notable breakthrough worthy of recognition, noting it strengthens professionalism, transparency and integrity in managing initiatives that directly serve public interests.

“As an organisation committed to upholding the administration’s agenda, PROUI views the engagement of academic institutions as a vital step to ensure that state assets and people‑centred programmes are managed effectively, accountably and sustainably,” Dr. Kun stated.

He explained that concerns have long persisted over whether state assets redistributed to the public through cooperatives are being utilised to their full potential. In this regard, universities are seen as capable of bringing specialist knowledge, management guidance and improved governance frameworks to Red‑White Village Cooperatives.

“The involvement of academia is no mere formality — it is a concrete measure to reduce risks of misuse while ensuring each cooperative economic unit develops independently, productively and in line with the spirit of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution,” he emphasised.

Furthermore, Dr. Kun said universities’ participation in monitoring and evaluating key government schemes serves as a critical safeguard against irregularities. Academics possess the capacity to deliver objective, evidence‑based analysis to steer national policy implementation.

“The academic community functions like an immune system against potential mismanagement. Independent perspectives and reliable data from scholars are essential in overseeing strategic programmes — ranging from the use of assets recovered from corruption cases for public benefit, through the Free Nutritious Meals initiative, to the downstream processing of natural resources,” he elaborated.

Independent oversight by academics also provides an effective early‑warning mechanism should practices emerge that risk undermining programme outcomes, Dr. Kun added. “This way, President Prabowo’s flagship initiatives avoid inefficiency or practices that harm the public good — every measure must remain oriented toward broad societal interests.”

In closing, Dr. Kun affirmed that coordination between government, universities and the public forms the foundation for building national economic resilience and addressing poverty and inequality.

“This partnership ensures government policies are not just administrative exercises, but genuine economic tools working for the people. PROUI is committed to supporting and championing this strategic alignment, so that the Prabowo‑Gibran administration stays firmly on course toward an independent, progressive and equitable Indonesia,” he concluded.
