Raja Agung Nusantara Urges All Parties to Safeguard National Stability Amid Gibran Academic Credential Controversy

PRIME NEWS POST

SAUDI ARABIA — Raja Agung Nusantara, Chairman of the Central Board of the Movement of Students and Youth of the Republic of Indonesia (GMPRI), has called on all societal elements to preserve national stability and refrain from being easily provoked amid developments surrounding the educational credentials of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The appeal was delivered during GMPRI’s cross-border consolidation held in Saudi Arabia. According to him, the controversy over Gibran’s academic records must be addressed within the framework of prevailing laws, the Constitution, and institutional mechanisms, so as not to escalate into social conflict or division among the public.

“We call upon all elements of the nation to remain calm, uphold unity, and maintain national stability. Let the public not be misled by unverified information, fragmented narratives, or provocation circulating in the public domain,” Raja Agung Nusantara stated.

The statement follows the Constitutional Court’s ruling in the 2024 Presidential Election Dispute Settlement Case on 6 October 2026, which confirmed no convincing evidence was presented — in the form of transcripts, certificates, or overseas diplomas — proving Gibran had completed education equivalent to senior secondary level. However, the Court declared the petitioners’ application inadmissible on grounds of legal standing.

Raja Agung Nusantara emphasized that the ruling and trial findings must be interpreted comprehensively and proportionately. He urged the public not to draw independent conclusions beyond the authority of competent bodies, and to allow space for legal processes and official clarification through state institutions.

“Do not be misled, and do not be easily provoked. We must distinguish between established trial facts, opinions, allegations, and legal determinations. Everything must be placed in its proper context. Safeguarding national integrity and stability must be our shared priority,” he affirmed.

During the cross-border consolidation, GMPRI also underscored the vital role of the younger generation in resolving national issues in a rational, critical, yet responsible manner. Raja Agung Nusantara noted that freedom of expression is a pillar of democracy, but must be exercised alongside respect for the law, national unity, and public order.

The consolidation was attended by Raja Agung Nusantara (GMPRI Chairman), Bang Satiri (Chairman of PERTI), Muhammad Tohir Jaelani (BEM SI Corps), Rahman Zarial Amin, SH (GMPRI South Sumatra Regional Chairman), Ustaz Khairul Akbar (GMPRI Saudi Arabia Overseas Branch Chairman), and Bang Imanullah Ali (GMPRI Lampung).

Raja Agung Nusantara further stated GMPRI will continue fostering national dialogue and youth consolidation — both domestically and abroad — prioritizing unity, national stability, the supremacy of law, and public interest.

“This nation is too great to be dragged into unproductive conflict. Let us address every issue through proper channels — remaining critical, yet never losing common sense or the spirit of Indonesian unity,” he concluded.
