The INDONESIAN, (Jakarta)– A violent incident targeting a vulnerable group has occurred again, raising public concern. A 78-year-old woman, Aries Krisnandari (AK), sustained serious head injuries after allegedly being assaulted when leaving a church in Central Jakarta on Sunday (March 29, 2026).
The incident took place around 11:30 AM Western Indonesia Time (WIB). According to initial reports, the victim is alleged to have been pushed by a man identified by initials LWT, causing her to fall and hit a building wall. The strong impact resulted in a severe laceration on her head, with significant bleeding.
In a weakened state, the victim was immediately assisted by church congregants at the scene and rushed to Husada Hospital for intensive medical treatment. To date, she remains under care for what is classified as serious impact injuries.
Alleged Motive: Disputed Investment Conflict
Emerging facts indicate the incident was not sudden. The victim’s family revealed an unresolved background involving a problematic insurance investment.
The victim had reportedly invested a significant sum in a private insurance company at the invitation of LL, wife of the alleged perpetrator. However, the company is said to have collapsed and failed to meet payment obligations to its clients.
“The victim only asked for clarity regarding the invested funds. Yet there was no transparency or accountability from the party who offered it,” a family representative stated.
Tensions arose when the victim attempted to seek direct clarification after the worship service. Instead of receiving an explanation, the alleged perpetrator is said to have reacted emotionally and physically assaulted the victim.
Indications of Multiple Offenses
The incident is deemed to have potential for multiple criminal elements that must be thoroughly investigated by law enforcement, including:
– Alleged assault against an elderly person, as regulated under Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, Article 466
– Potential fraud or deceit in the failed investment scheme
– Alleged breach of trust in offering financial products to the victim
Thus, handling the case is considered insufficient if limited only to the physical assault aspect; it must address the root cause of the problem.

The case has been reported to the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police with Report Number: LP/B/896/III/2026/SPKT/POLRES METRO JAKPUS/POLDA METRO JAYA, dated March 29, 2026.
Several pieces of evidence have been secured, including CCTV footage from the scene, medical examination results, and the victim’s blood-stained clothing as physical evidence.
The victim’s family emphasized that the available evidence should be sufficient grounds for authorities to take firm legal action against the alleged perpetrator promptly.
