JAKARTA — Renowned Indonesian Islamic scholar Abuya Tubagus Mulyadi Mawahib Alqodim Albantany, widely known as Abah Alam, has once again emphasized the importance of brotherhood (silaturahmi), love and respect for religious scholars, and consistency in performing the five daily prayers as the spiritual and moral foundation of the nation.
Abuya Abah Alam, who also serves as Advisory Board Member of the Central Executive Board of PEJABAT (Pengacara dan Jawara Pembela Ummat) and as a spiritual figure within Laskar Merah Putih Indonesia, delivered these messages in a brief yet meaningful religious address during the 6th anniversary (Milad) of PEJABAT.
The 6th anniversary celebration of PEJABAT, held under the theme “Preserving Culture 2025”, became a moment of reflection and gratitude for the organization’s journey, while also strengthening its social and community-oriented role. The event was attended by organizational leaders, members, religious figures, and representatives of various community groups.
In his address, Abah Alam stressed that an organizational anniversary should not be merely ceremonial, but must be translated into concrete programs that bring tangible benefits to the wider community.
“PEJABAT is a noble acronym that stands for Pengacara dan Jawara Pembela Ummat (Lawyers and Champions of the Ummah). It signifies the duty to defend and protect the people, religious scholars, clerics, and preachers who consistently convey goodness and the noble values of religious teachings,” Abah Alam said.
He further emphasized that all administrators and members of PEJABAT must serve as role models in society, adhering to the principle that the best among people are those who bring the greatest benefit to others. Compassion and commitment to resolving community issues through ethical and dignified means, he said, are integral to the organization’s identity.
Abah Alam also encouraged PEJABAT to actively participate and synergize with central and regional government programs, particularly in the field of social welfare, while maintaining a critical stance grounded in truth and moral values.
“PEJABAT must have the courage to speak the truth and uphold goodness for the sake of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). When leaders deviate from the right path, they must be reminded and corrected through dialogue or peaceful actions that voice truth and build collective awareness,” he asserted.
As one of the figures within the Supreme Spiritual Council of the Indonesian Customary Council (Majelis Adat Indonesia/MAI), Abah Alam also highlighted that these moral messages were not only conveyed orally during the 6th anniversary event, but were also delivered in written form through the MAI Communication Forum. The forum was attended by Kings, Sultans, Datuk, and customary leaders from across the archipelago, as part of efforts to strengthen national unity, cultural preservation, and spiritual values.
In his written message to the MAI forum, Abah Alam called upon all community organizations and customary institutions to consistently safeguard national unity and cohesion in order to preserve the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
The 6th anniversary of PEJABAT concluded with a joint prayer led directly by Abah Alam, seeking peace, blessings, and unity for all community organizations, government officials, religious leaders, customary figures, and all elements of the nation.
“Let us continue to preserve togetherness and Indonesia’s unity with calm hearts and sincere intentions,” Abah Alam concluded.
