BANDA ACEH — The dedication of Aceh Regional Police Chief (Kapolda Aceh) Inspector General of Police Ruddi Setiawan in maintaining security stability, nurturing peace, and strengthening community unity in Aceh has earned appreciation from students and youth across the region.
Rifqi Maulana, Chairman of the Association of Aceh Serantau Students and Youth, expressed his recognition of the commitment demonstrated by Kapolda Aceh and his officers in carrying out police duties through a human-centered approach, open communication, and collaboration with all segments of society.
According to Rifqi, maintaining security in Aceh is not merely a matter of law enforcement; it is also about safeguarding public trust, preserving social harmony, and ensuring that the peace achieved through collective struggle endures.
“As students and youth of Aceh, we deeply appreciate every effort that prioritizes dialogue, unity, and a humanist approach to security. Aceh needs a peaceful environment, a united people, and law enforcement agencies that stand present — providing a sense of safety and justice for all,” Rifqi Maulana stated.
He noted that the recognitions received by the Kapolda Aceh — including the Kapolri Gold Pin for his handling of public gatherings in October 2026 and an award from the Aceh Government for his contributions to peacebuilding — should serve as momentum to further strengthen professional, community-oriented policing.
For Rifqi, success in maintaining security is measured not only by the absence of unrest, but also by the ability to build trust, de-escalate tensions, respect public aspirations, and resolve issues without deepening divisions.
Unity and Peace Are a Shared Responsibility
Rifqi emphasized that peace in Aceh is the essential foundation for sustainable development, economic growth, and a promising future for the younger generation. Therefore, all sectors of society — government, security forces, religious and traditional leaders, students, and youth organizations alike — must play their part in safeguarding unity.
“Let differing views never overshadow our sense of brotherhood. Aceh carries a long history of struggle for peace. Our task today is to nurture that peace through wisdom, dialogue, and mutual respect,” he said.
He also encouraged ongoing strengthening of communication between the police and the public, including creating responsible channels for students and youth to voice their aspirations. A security approach that runs alongside respect for community rights, he added, forms the bedrock of a safe, orderly, and democratic society.
Recognition Must Translate to Continued Service
Furthermore, Rifqi conveyed that the appreciation extended to Kapolda Aceh should inspire all police personnel to continuously improve public service quality, uphold professional law enforcement, and respond effectively to community needs.
He expressed hope for ever-stronger synergy between the police, military, local government, and civil society — particularly in addressing security challenges, combating drugs, supporting post-disaster recovery, and protecting young people from pressing social issues.
“To us, the highest honour a leader can receive is not a medal or title, but the genuine trust of the people — earned through integrity, hard work, and consistent service,” Rifqi affirmed.
He added that the Aceh Serantau Students and Youth stand ready to champion unity, spread the message of peace, and foster constructive communication between the community and policymakers.
“Aceh’s future is a shared trust. Unity is our strength, peace is our duty, and service to the people must remain our collective priority,” Rifqi Maulana concluded.
