The INDONESIAN (JAKARTA) – The Freestyle Boxing Organization (FBO) Indonesia has achieved another milestone following the successful staging of the international “DUEL” Exhibition Fight in January 2026.

The international event not only featured matches of international standards but also played a key role in strengthening sports diplomacy and cross-country sportsmanship. Through this platform, sports serve as a means of unity, character building, and reinforcing national values for young generations in Indonesia and neighboring countries.

To solidify the development of freestyle boxing, FBO Indonesia paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) in South Jakarta on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. The visit aimed to consolidate efforts, follow up on potential cooperation, and seek recognition for FBO Indonesia as a sport discipline under KONI’s auspices. The delegation was accompanied by Isa Lubis (Daily Chairman of FBO Indonesia) and special staff of the organization.

Ferdinan Weimar, Chairman of FBO Indonesia, shared positive feedback from KONI: “We have just paid a courtesy call to the Secretary General of KONI regarding follow-up collaboration between KONI and FBO Indonesia. KONI has given a favorable response and is, in principle, very supportive of our activities, especially since our focus is on developing Generation Z (young people) who have extraordinary potential in freestyle boxing,” he stated after the meeting.

The support was further emphasized by MF Hasan SH, Chairman of FBO Indonesia’s Central Java Regional Board: “KONI Headquarters, through the Secretary General, has expressed full support for FBO Indonesia’s initiatives. In the near future, KONI will issue an official recommendation letter enabling FBO Indonesia to collaborate with all KONI structures across Indonesia.”

KONI’s support is expected to further strengthen Indonesia’s freestyle boxing ecosystem, opening broader opportunities for young athletes to develop and compete at both national and international levels. FBO Indonesia is committed to continuously organizing professional, dignified, and beneficial activities for the development of sports in the country.
