The INDONESIAN, (JAKARTA)– The Freestyle Boxing Organisation (FBO) Indonesia officially held a lively and spirited Opening Ceremony in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, on December 13, 2025. The event also served to establish FBO Indonesia’s founding day and inaugurate the organisation’s central management, which proceeded smoothly and joyfully.
The event was attended by various national figures, members of the Board of Patrons, Advisory Board, Board of Trustees, as well as sports figures from various regions. The presence of accomplished boxing athletes, including the heavyweight champion, further enhanced the event’s appeal and grandeur.
In an atmosphere of camaraderie and national spirit, the series of events began with a joint prayer, speeches from prominent figures, and a symbolic inauguration ceremony that was enthusiastically welcomed by all attendees. Moments of fellowship and entertainment reinforced the message that FBO is present as a large home for Indonesian boxing athletes and the boxing community.
Chairman of FBO Indonesia, Ferdinand Weimar DJ, in his remarks, emphasised the organisation’s strong commitment to building FBO professionally, structurally, and sustainably. “FBO is present not merely as an organisation, but as a movement for the coaching and development of freestyle boxing that upholds sportsmanship, discipline, and achievement. We are optimistic that FBO will be able to enter and be officially recognised by KONI in the future, as well as be able to bring Indonesian athletes to compete on the international stage,” he said.
He also emphasised that FBO will focus on fostering young athletes, improving the quality of competitions, and establishing synergy with various national sports stakeholders. “Hopefully, FBO Indonesia can become a unifying platform for the nation’s children in producing professional young athletes in the field of martial arts,” added Ferdinand with enthusiasm, “FBO: From us, for us. FBO Jaya Jaya Jaya. FBO NKRI Harga Mati, MERDEKA.”
The merriment of the FBO inauguration received widespread appreciation from the national figures and sports enthusiasts who attended. They assessed FBO as a positive initiative that can enrich the martial arts ecosystem in Indonesia, while also opening up new avenues of achievement for the younger generation.
