The INDONESIAN, (JAKARTA)— FOSS Group, through its subsidiary PT Genetic FOSS Indonesia Teknologi, has officially introduced FOSS Aerogel Fire Protection, a line of fire suppression technology built on aerogel materials, designed to meet evolving fire safety and protection needs across Indonesia. The technology is engineered to support effective fire suppression, block heat transfer, reduce oxygen exposure, and significantly lower the risk of re-ignition.

Afo Lim, Founder of FOSS Group, stated that the launch of FOSS Aerogel Fire Protection forms part of FOSS Group’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovation and technology that delivers tangible benefits to Indonesia.

“Safety is a fundamental necessity. Through PT Genetic FOSS Indonesia Teknologi, we aim to deliver innovative, applicable fire suppression technology adaptable to diverse conditions across Indonesia. We are not merely introducing a product — we are offering a safety solution that brings real value to communities, industries, and the nation,” said Afo Lim.

The introduction of this technology carries growing relevance amid the rapid expansion of electric vehicles, lithium batteries, energy storage facilities, industrial zones, mining operations, energy infrastructure, and other modern developments — all of which present increasingly diverse fire characteristics and hazards.

FOSS Aerogel Fire Protection has been developed as a comprehensive solution family spanning multiple device formats: a compact 500 ml extinguisher, a throw-type extinguisher bottle of approximately 600 ml, portable units of 2–9 litres, wall-mounted 4–8 litre models, a 15‑litre backpack extinguisher, automatic suppression systems, mini fire trucks, and fire motorcycles — enabling effective response across a wide range of field conditions and operational requirements.

Its application spans critical sectors: lithium batteries and electric vehicles, energy storage facilities, industry and manufacturing, mining and energy, petrochemicals, transportation, public infrastructure, and solutions for forest fire suppression operations.

Concurrent with the launch, FOSS Group through PT Genetic FOSS Indonesia Teknologi is also opening collaboration opportunities with the Central and Regional Governments, relevant ministries and disaster management agencies — including BNPB and BPBD — fire services, state‑owned enterprises, industrial parks, energy and mining companies, the transport, automotive and electric vehicle sectors, as well as distributors and technology partners nationwide.

Areas of collaboration may include product demonstrations, technical testing and verification, pilot projects, application development tailored to field requirements, safety system integration, and the expansion of marketing and distribution networks. The company’s development roadmap explicitly covers demonstration, testing, pilot initiatives, and partnership expansion.

In the long term, FOSS Group also intends to explore assembly, refilling, technology transfer, and eventual local production within Indonesia — should conditions prove feasible. The goal is for this technology to move beyond product distribution and become an integral part of the nation’s domestic safety technology capacity.

“We stand ready to collaborate with the government, state‑owned enterprises, industry, and all strategic partners. We are prepared to conduct joint demonstrations, testing, and development to adapt this technology to real‑world field needs. Our hope is simple: the technology we deliver must serve the public good and help build a safer Indonesia,” Lim added.

With this initiative, FOSS Group and PT Genetic FOSS Indonesia Teknologi affirm their strategic direction: delivering safety technology responsive to Indonesia’s evolving risks and needs, while fostering broader collaboration between technology providers, government, industry, and society. The company prioritizes Government & SOEs, industry, energy, automotive, transportation, distributors, and technology partners as key cooperation segments.
