GMPRI Central Leadership Board Sends Official Letter to Head and Deputy Head of Indonesia’s National Nutrition Agency, Reveals Alleged Fraud Involving 150 Free Nutritious Meal Program Kitchens

PRIME NEWS POST

The INDONESIAN (Jakarta )– The Central Leadership Board of the Indonesian Student and Youth Movement (DPP GMPRI) has officially sent a letter to the Head of Indonesia’s National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional/BGN RI), Prof. Dr. Ir. Dadan Hindayana, and the Deputy Head of BGN RI, Irjen. Pol. Sony Sanjaya, S.IK., regarding alleged fraud and misuse of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) involving 150 MBG kitchens across various regions in Indonesia.

This disclosure is the result of a direct investigation by DPP GMPRI, supported by public reports and complaints from kitchen partners, which were initially established to support the government’s national strategic program in nutrition provision.

DPP GMPRI emphasized that the MBG kitchens were established based on the spirit of community mutual cooperation, as a form of active participation in supporting the vision and mission of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, General TNI (Ret.) H. Prabowo Subianto, particularly within the framework of the Eight Goals of the Free Nutritious Meal Program for Indonesian children.

However, in its implementation, DPP GMPRI identified a number of serious and systemic issues that could potentially harm the public and hinder the implementation of the MBG Program. One of the main cases occurred at 57 MBG kitchens spread across East Java, Central Java, and West Java Provinces.

According to the compiled chronology, capital owners were asked to build kitchens by PT. Rouyan Makmur Sejahtera, with the promise of assistance in handling administrative procedures to obtain official BGN IDs and “blue tick” status. Nevertheless, the issued IDs are allegedly problematic as they list the names of several foundations without official permission, meaning these kitchens have yet to operate to date.

Previously, the kitchen owners were also required to submit funds of Rp120 million per Work Order (SPK), with a total of 57 kitchens estimated to amount to Rp6.8 billion. In their actions, the company’s leadership even claimed to have a personal connection with the President of Indonesia as the President’s tailor – a claim now included in DPP GMPRI’s official complaint documents.

Additionally, DPP GMPRI uncovered alleged further fraud involving 93 MBG kitchens spread across various regions in Indonesia. In this case, several individuals claiming to be from BGN and political parties offered similar schemes, requesting funds ranging from Rp100 million to Rp200 million per kitchen, with total public losses estimated at Rp10 billion to Rp18.6 billion.

Based on these findings, DPP GMPRI considers that prompt, firm, and coordinated measures are necessary to prevent the Free Nutritious Meal Program from becoming a victim of manipulative practices that tarnish state policies and harm the people.

As a form of moral and constitutional responsibility, DPP GMPRI has officially requested an audience with the Deputy Head of BGN RI, Irjen. Pol. Sony Sanjaya, S.IK., to present the investigation results and request guidance and concrete solutions from BGN RI leadership.

“As a form of moral and constitutional responsibility, DPP GMPRI has officially requested an audience with the Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. This audience is intended to present the investigation results and request guidance and concrete solutions, so that the Free Nutritious Meal Program can continue to operate in line with its noble objectives and not be misused by certain parties,” emphasized the Chairman of DPP GMPRI, Raja Agung Nusantara, on Tuesday (January 20, 2026).

In its official letter to BGN RI leadership, DPP GMPRI put forward three main request points:

1. Requesting BGN RI to immediately verify, activate, and grant official status (“blue tick”) to the MBG kitchens investigated and advocated by DPP GMPRI, so they can operate promptly and serve beneficiary communities.
2. Requesting that the 150 MBG kitchens be designated as DPP GMPRI-supervised kitchens to ensure program transparency, accountability, and sustainability.
3. Requesting BGN RI’s attention and serious handling of these alleged fraud cases to maintain the integrity of the Free Nutritious Meal Program as a national strategic program.

DPP GMPRI reaffirmed its commitment to fully oversee the MBG Program, uphold the dignity of the President of Indonesia’s policy, and ensure that the program’s benefits are truly felt by children and communities in need.

As a legally incorporated youth organization based on the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Decree No. AHU-0010337.AH.01.07.Year 2017, DPP GMPRI has taken this step in good faith and with a spirit of collaboration for the interests of the nation and state.
