The INDONESIAN (JAKARTA) — The General Chairman of the National Unity Movement 08 (GPN 08), Safrin Sofyan, has called upon the Indonesian people to remain calm, rational, and not easily influenced by various provocative issues emerging in public discourse, including narratives regarding a “mass movement” linked to efforts to undermine the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.
According to H. Safrin, political dynamics characterized by speculation, unfounded opinions, and snippets of statements going viral on social media must be addressed wisely and should not be used as a basis to create public anxiety.
“We urge the public not to be easily confused by grand narratives that may not necessarily hold complete truth. This nation needs stability, not commotion caused by provocation,” he stated firmly on April 13.
His remarks also responded to circulating videos featuring the Deputy Chairperson of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), Tamsil Linrung, who mentioned the possibility of a “mass movement” in June 2026, linking it to national leadership dynamics involving Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
H. Safrin assessed that such narratives have the potential to spread disinformation and cloud the national atmosphere if not responded to proportionally and maturely.
Furthermore, H. Safrin emphasized that the current administration requires full public support to ensure national strategic agendas can be implemented consistently and sustainably.
He highlighted several key points as the foundation for public attitude:
– Stable governance is the key to the success of national development.
– President Prabowo’s programs are designed for the long term and require public trust, not disruption from political speculation.
– The public must be smart in filtering information amidst the flood of digital disinformation.
– National unity must be preserved as the main foundation of the nation’s strength.
In his statement, H. Safrin also affirmed that Prabowo Subianto is a true portrait of a patriot who has traveled a long path of service to the nation and state.
“Mr. Prabowo is a leader forged by history, not created by circumstances. He has proven that love for the nation and loyalty to the people are the highest principles in statecraft,” he said.
According to him, under Prabowo’s leadership, the public is once again feeling the rise of nationalistic spirit and the confidence of the Indonesian nation on the global stage.
“He brings an aura of unity. There are no longer barriers from the past; there is only a shared step forward toward a strong and sovereign Indonesia,” he added.
In this regard, H. Safrin continued that GPN 08 will remain at the forefront in safeguarding the legitimate government and fully supporting the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto in carrying out the people’s mandate.
He also invited all elements of the nation to uphold political ethics, prioritize constructive dialogue, and reject all forms of provocation that could potentially lead to national instability.
Amidst evolving political dynamics, H. Safrin emphasized that democratic maturity is reflected in the public’s ability to filter information, maintain composure, and remain confident in constitutional mechanisms.
He stressed that Indonesia must not be trapped in fear narratives built by certain parties, but must remain focused on real work, unity, and a stronger future for the nation.
