The INDONESIAN, (Jakarta)– The spirit of women’s emancipation was once again echoed through a reflection titled “Kartini Reborn: After Darkness Comes Light”, serving as a call to action for Indonesian women to affirm their strategic role amidst the nation’s dynamics.
This message was delivered by Her Highness Drs. Elly Yuniarti, MS., MM, the Yang Dipertuan Ratu Srikandi Pertiwi Diraja Nusantara, and former Head of Sub-Directorate for Art and Cultural Resilience at the Directorate General of Politics and General Government, Ministry of Home Affairs. The event took place in the Menteng area, Jakarta, on April 11, 2026.
In her address, Her Highness emphasized that Indonesian women, as the “Heroines of the Archipelago” (Ibu Srikandi Nusantara), carry a noble mandate to rise and occupy equal, balanced, and dignified positions in all aspects of national and state life.
“Moving from darkness to light is the journey of civilizational awareness. Indonesian women must emerge as a beacon, bearing dignity while safeguarding the nation’s noble values,” she stated firmly.
Furthermore, Her Highness Drs. Elly Yuniarti, MS., MM stressed that the awakening of women is not merely symbolic, but a tangible movement rooted in moral strength, ethics, culture, and compassion—the very foundations of the nation’s civilization.
According to her, women hold a strategic position in shaping the next generation to possess strong character, integrity, and a commitment to unity and justice. Therefore, Indonesian women must stand as the main pillars in maintaining harmony and balance in national life.
This call also serves as a reminder that in facing various challenges and injustices, the power of prayer, love, and steadfastness found in women represents an irreplaceable spiritual energy in preserving the nation’s integrity.
This moment reflects the enduring relevance of Kartini’s struggle: the light of civilization can only be achieved through collective awareness, courage, and unity among all elements of the nation.
