The INDONESIA— National activist Raja Agung Nusantara, who also serves as Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Student and Youth Movement (GMPRI) and Executive Chairman of the National Youth Committee of Indonesia (KNPI), has expressed deep appreciation for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, S.IK., M.Si., for his firm, professional, and fair actions in handling the case involving allegations of a fake diploma against President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), which has now led to the naming of several suspects, including Roy Suryo.
According to Raja Agung Nusantara, the conduct of Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri represents a portrait of the National Police (Polri) that upholds justice without discrimination, while maintaining prudence, objectivity, and a strong sense of social fairness.
“Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri’s action is not merely a law enforcement measure—it is also a moral act to safeguard the honor of state institutions and the dignity of the President of the Republic of Indonesia as the symbol of national sovereignty.
We, as the young generation of the national movement, express our highest respect for his professionalism and integrity,”
said Raja Agung Nusantara in Jakarta, Saturday (November 8, 2025).
Raja Agung further noted that the courage shown by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police in revealing a case that had caused public unrest serves as an important lesson for Indonesia’s democratic and legal life.
He emphasized that freedom of expression should not be misused as freedom to spread slander—especially against the head of state who was democratically and constitutionally elected by the people.
“Justice upheld with knowledge, wisdom, and courage is the mark of a true law enforcer. Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri has embodied that ideal before the nation,”
he added.
In an official press conference at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri announced that investigators had named eight suspects in the defamation and slander case.
