The INDONESIAN, (JAKARTA) — PT.Asuransi BRI Life is stepping forward at the forefront of Indonesia’s new era of healthcare integration, marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) to implement the Cross-Scheme Coordination Mechanism (KAPJ) together with BPJS Kesehatan and participating hospitals. This strategic collaboration unites the National Health Insurance (JKN) scheme and Supplementary Health Insurance (AKT) into a single service pathway — designed to be simpler, more reliable, and centred firmly on patient needs.
The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday (6/10/2026) in Bogor, during the Third Quarter 2026 Coordination Meeting of the Health Sector Policy Committee (KKSK), and was witnessed directly by Indonesia’s Minister of Health, alongside leadership from the KKSK and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). This milestone forms part of BRI Life’s proactive efforts to advance the KAPJ framework.
The momentum began on September 3, 2026, when BRI Life first signed cooperation agreements with a number of hospitals during a coordination meeting of the Task Force on Strengthening the Health Insurance Ecosystem through KAPJ, held at the Ministry of Health’s Adhyatma Building in Jakarta. Chaired by the Minister of Health, the meeting reviewed progress reports from the KAPJ Task Force and was attended by representatives from BPJS Kesehatan, the OJK, and national insurance and hospital associations.
Progress continued on September 15, 2026, when BRI Life joined other Supplementary Health Insurance providers in signing the KAPJ Cooperation Agreement hosted by BPJS Kesehatan in Jakarta — a key step toward strengthening operational implementation across the sector.
“Implementing KAPJ represents tangible collaboration across the entire national healthcare ecosystem. BRI Life is committed to supporting a coordination framework that is transparent, integrated, and participant-centred. Through this partnership, we aim to contribute toward a more effective and sustainable healthcare financing system, without compromising on service quality or member protection,” said Kicky Andrie, President Director of BRI Life.
KAPJ was established under OJK Regulation No. 36 of 2025 on Strengthening the Health Insurance Ecosystem and Minister of Health Decree No. 1117 of 2025. The mechanism rests on three key pillars: coordinated JKN membership verification, a unified billing system, and streamlined cost-sharing arrangements that optimise coverage for patients.
Under this framework, members gain access to improved treatment classes, with greater cost transparency and efficiency for both hospitals and patients. BRI Life remains committed to expanding its network of hospitals and stakeholders, ensuring the benefits of KAPJ reach more people across Indonesia.
“Through KAPJ, BRI Life believes that closer coordination between Supplementary Health Insurance providers, hospitals, and the national JKN programme will deliver better outcomes for the public — while building a healthcare financing system that is more transparent, efficient, coordinated, and sustainable,” Kicky concluded.
