Sandri Rumanama, Director of the Haidar Alwi Institute (HAI), stated that the leadership of National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, with the slogan Predictive, Responsible, and Transparent Justice (“Presisi”), has achieved various positive outcomes.
These span law enforcement, improved quality of public services, and support for government programs.
“This success is part of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) transformation initiated in 2025, as a continuous effort to ensure the institution keeps improving,” Sandri said in his statement on Tuesday (January 13, 2026).
According to Sandri, the Polri transformation focuses on improving organizational culture as the main foundation for change.
He believes that structural and fundamental reform must go hand in hand with changes in work culture to build a professional, modern, and trusted police force.
“Improving organizational culture complements structural and fundamental reforms to realize a professional, modern, and increasingly public-trusted Polri,” added Sandri, who is also the Founder of Kontra Narasi.
He also revealed that data analysis and processing show an increase in public trust in the Polri institution. He dismissed cynical views that claim public trust is merely one-sided rhetoric.
“This is not a claim – it is data-based fact. Rumah Politik Indonesia has released survey results showing that 76.2% of the public is optimistic about Polri’s transformation in 2026,” he emphasized.
Sandri added that this public optimism stems from the performance of Polri personnel, which is considered to have continued to improve year after year.
Polri reform, he said, has transformed the institution into a state apparatus that is increasingly close to the people. “This reform has created reliable, humane, communicative, and collaborative human resources within Polri to serve the public,” Sandri concluded.
