Raja Agung Nusantara Supports President and Finance Minister for Special Attention to Part-Time PPPK Issue in Central Lombok

The INDONESIAN, (Jakarta)— The General Chairman of GMPRI National Board, who also serves as the Daily National Chairman of KNPI National Board, Raja Agung Nusantara, expressed full support for the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Minister of Finance to give serious attention to the welfare issues concerning Part-Time Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK), particularly in Central Lombok Regency.

This statement was delivered following the emergence of aspirations and complaints from part-time PPPK health workers in the area who receive extremely low salaries, reportedly as little as Rp200,000 per month. This condition has triggered protests and drawn public attention, especially after reports emerged regarding alleged intimidation against workers voicing their rights.

Raja Agung Nusantara emphasized that the state must intervene to ensure justice and decent living standards for public service workers, especially health personnel who serve on the frontlines of community service.

“This issue must not be taken lightly. Health workers are a vital pillar of the public service system. If their welfare is neglected, the quality of services provided to the community will ultimately suffer,” he stated firmly.

Furthermore, he explained that while regulations stipulate that salary funding for part-time PPPK is the responsibility of local governments through the Regional Budget (APBD), the central government, via the Ministry of Finance, plays a strategic role in strengthening regional fiscal capacity, particularly through the General Allocation Fund (DAU) scheme.

Under the current mechanism, the central government does not transfer salaries directly to individuals, but instead provides support through:

1. Strengthening DAU allocations to regional governments
2. Flexibility in APBD utilization, including Unforeseen Expenditures (BTT)
3. Utilization of School Operational Assistance Funds (BOSP) for educators
4. Adjustment of funding sources in accordance with Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) policies

Nevertheless, Raja Agung assessed that conditions on the ground indicate a gap between policy and implementation.

“We urge the central government, particularly the President and the Minister of Finance, to consider strategic measures such as additional budget allocation or special schemes to ensure the welfare of part-time PPPK, especially in regions with limited fiscal capacity,” he said.

He also highlighted the alleged intimidation against health workers expressing their aspirations as a violation of democratic principles and human rights.

“Every citizen has the right to freedom of expression. There should be no pressure or intimidation against health workers who are legally fighting for their rights,” he added.

The GMPRI National Board hopes for strong synergy between the central and regional governments to resolve this issue comprehensively, ensuring not only the mitigation of social unrest but also the sustainability of quality public services.

In conclusion, Raja Agung Nusantara affirmed that siding with health workers and part-time PPPK personnel is part of a collective commitment to realizing social justice for all Indonesians.
