The INDONESIAN (Jakarta) – Sudaryono, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, hosted an iftar gathering with leaders of Tani Merdeka Indonesia (Independent Farmers of Indonesia), Pedagang Pejuang Indonesia Raya (Papera – Indonesian Great Warrior Traders), and the All-Indonesia Market Traders Association (APPSI).
The event took place at the Auditorium Building of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday, March 9, 2026, and was attended by approximately 800 regional leaders from the three organizations, who came from various parts of Indonesia.
Marking a Ramadan fellowship moment, the gathering was warm and filled with a spirit of togetherness. Participants were enthusiastic about the series of activities, which served as a platform to strengthen inter-organizational relations and solidify solidarity among leaders.
Also present on the occasion were Don Muzakir, General Chairman of the Central Leadership Council of Tani Merdeka Indonesia, along with several other organizational leaders.
In addition to the iftar program, the committee also organized a donation activity for orphans as a form of social care during the holy month of Ramadan.
In his speech, Sudaryono – who also serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of Tani Merdeka Indonesia – encouraged all organizational leaders to bravely convey accurate information to the public.
He also addressed various issues circulating in public spaces that are deemed to target President Prabowo Subianto.
“The forces of Tani Merdeka Indonesia, Papera, and APPSI must dare to convey the truth and combat all slanderous issues directed at President Prabowo Subianto through any media. The programs currently being implemented by President Prabowo have a profound impact on the people, and farmers have already begun to feel their benefits,” Sudaryono stated.
Known affectionately as Mas Dar, he emphasized that community organizations play a strategic role in delivering accurate information to the public. According to him, the network of farmer and trader organizations has the strength to reach communities down to the regional level.
The atmosphere became more lively as participants demonstrated their spirit of unity. Cheers of support from the leaders kept the auditorium vibrant throughout the event.
Towards the closing of the event, the activities concluded with the recitation of Selawat Badar (a prayer in praise of the Prophet Muhammad). Sudaryono invited all participants to join in the prayer.
With great enthusiasm, he led the collective chant of the selawat, which was followed simultaneously by hundreds of attendees.
The sound of the selawat echoed throughout the auditorium. Light from participants’ mobile phones illuminated the room, creating a solemn yet united atmosphere until the event ended.
