The INDONESIAN (Bengkulu )— The grand ceremony of the Adat Title Conferment, held in celebration of the 57th Anniversary of Bengkulu Province, took place with dignity and grandeur at the Semarak Regional Hall. The event served as a major cultural gathering of the Nusantara, attended by Kings, Sultans, Princes, Datuks, Radens, Queens, and cultural figures from across the archipelago, all united under the Forum of the Indonesian Adat Council (MAI).

Among the many distinguished attendees, the presence of the Secretary-General of the Indonesian Adat Council (MAI), M. Rafik Datuk Rajo Kuaso, bearer of the traditional title Datuak Rajo Kuaso Cumati Koto Piliang Langgam Nan 7 Kerajaan Pagaruyung, drew special attention. He attended as the national representative of MAI, carrying with him the philosophical, moral, and cultural perspectives rooted in the ancient kingdoms of the Nusantara.

He was accompanied by His Most Serene High Majesty Prof. Dr. M.S.P.A. Iansyah Rechza F.W., Ph.D., Maharaja of Kutai Mulawarman, the Sovereign Paramount Ruler of the Nusantara, who also served as a distinguished guest of honor at the ceremony.

Their arrival was marked by a Special Adat Reception, featuring highly revered traditional performances that showcased Bengkulu’s deep cultural respect for its honored guests. The welcoming procession included Barong Landong Dance, Dhol Drums, Rabana, Kejai Dance, and other sacred ceremonial performances.

Following the cultural procession, the delegation proceeded to the Sidang Mufakat Rajo Penghulu, chaired by the Head of the Bengkulu BMA. This highest adat assembly serves as the authoritative forum for determining and conferring honorary adat titles to national and regional figures.

During the session, the MAI Secretary-General delivered an address calling for the Revitalization of the Moral, Cultural, and Traditional Dignity of the Nusantara. He emphasized the central role of adat as the moral and ethical compass of the nation.

He reaffirmed that adat is not merely a cultural element, but the spiritual essence and moral direction of the Indonesian nation:

“Adat is the light that guides the nation. As long as our values are upheld, our identity will never be swept away by the tides of time.”
