The INDONESIAN (Surakarta) – The Freestyle Boxing Organization (FBO) Indonesia made history once again by successfully hosting the international freestyle boxing exhibition fight titled “DUEL”, featuring fighters from Indonesia and Timor Leste, on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Nawa Bistro (Tawa Bistro), Jalan Prof. Dr. Supomo No. 69, Surakarta.
This international event served as a strategic milestone for FBO Indonesia to affirm its position as a professional sports organization that not only focuses on achievements but also upholds sportsmanship, cross-country friendship, and cultural diplomacy through modern combat sports rooted in national values.
The General Chairperson of FBO Indonesia and President of the Timor Leste Federation, Ferdinand Weimar DJ, emphasized that the event carried meaning beyond just a competition.
“Today’s Exhibition Fight is an open message that sports are a universal language of unity. FBO Indonesia wants to show that freestyle boxing is not just about technique and strength, but about honor, discipline, and mutual respect among nations,” said Ferdinand.
According to him, the gathering of Indonesian and Timor Leste athletes in one arena symbolizes the maturity of sports and a shared commitment to building healthy, dignified, and sustainable international relations.
“We want athletes to compete with clear conscience, uphold sportsmanship, and carry their respective nations’ names with full responsibility. This is the essence of freestyle boxing built by FBO Indonesia,” he added.
Sponsor Awards and Sports Ecosystem Enhancement
As part of the “DUEL” Exhibition Fight series, FBO Indonesia also presented Certificates of Appreciation to several figures and sponsors for their participation and strategic contributions in supporting the organization of the International Freestyle Boxing Fight.
The award was a form of recognition from FBO Indonesia for the business sector’s role in advancing the development of professional, independent, and sustainable freestyle boxing in Indonesia. The certificates were signed directly by Ferdinand Weimar DJ and Frederico Florindo, representative of Glong Han Fighting.
Commitment to Professionalism: National Referee–Judge Certification
In addition to the competition, FBO Indonesia demonstrated its seriousness in strengthening sports human resources through a successful national-level Freestyle Boxing Referee–Judge Training and Certification held on January 25, 2026.
During the event, FBO Indonesia officially issued Certificate No. 03/FBO/BPW/I/2026 to Poei Yonanta Pratama, who was declared PASS in accordance with the attached score sheet. This step is crucial to ensuring every freestyle boxing match is conducted fairly, professionally, and in line with national and international standards.
Indonesia’s Elite Athlete Line-Up
To strengthen Indonesia’s contingent, FBO Indonesia fielded top national athletes, including:
– Alin Anggriyanto (52 Kg): Holder of the KX-1 Pro Fight Series 3 Kick Boxing belt, with a One Pride record of 9–0–6. Achievements include Champion of the 2025 Keprukan Fight Show, 2009 Wushu Sanda Champion, and 2004 Provincial Wushu Sanda Runner-Up.
– Faisal Giru (56 Kg): Holder of the 56 Kg ASTA Indonesia belt, with a One Pride record of 2–0–1. Achievements include 2022 East Kalimantan Provincial Muaythai Champion, 2023 Central Java Provincial Kick Boxing Champion, 2023 East Kalimantan Pre-National Games Athlete, and 2025 Central Java National Kick Boxing Champion.
The competition format and prestigious prizes covered Street Boxing, Freestyle Boxing, and MMA categories, including amateur and professional divisions, all governed by FBO’s official regulations. As recognition, winning Indonesian fighters received not only gold medals but also a motorcycle unit, adding to the event’s prestige and athletes’ motivation.
Ferdinand Weimar DJ delivered a strong message to Indonesia’s youth: “Be true sons and daughters of the nation who uphold commitment, consistency, and integrity. Winning or losing is part of the game, but character and honor are eternal values.”
He stressed that FBO Indonesia exists not only as a competition organizer but also as a major institution for shaping the character and mentality of Indonesia’s youth. “Through sports, we aim to nurture a generation that is physically strong, mentally mature, and steadfast as Indonesian citizens. One Heart Indonesia. The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is Sacred. Freedom!” he concluded.
FBO Indonesia’s Strategic Roadmap Ahead
Moving forward, FBO Indonesia will continue various strategic initiatives, including:
– National and international level Freestyle Boxing exhibitions
– Certification for athletes, coaches, and referees–judges
– Collaboration with communities, institutions, and friendly nations under the “FBO ONE” spirit
FBO Indonesia reaffirms its role as a major institution for developing athletes and Indonesia’s youth. The successful and enthusiastic event was witnessed by the Advisory Board, Board of Counselors, Expert Board, Honorary Board, as well as figures and representatives from Timor Leste.
