Kuantan Sengingi, Riau – Induk Koperasi Tambang Nusantara (IKTN) or the Nusantara Mining Cooperative Parent Organization, conducted a socialization of Government Regulation (PP) Number 39 of 2025 concerning the Management of Minerals and Coal in Petapahan Village, Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing), Riau Province. The activity was directly guided by one of IKTN’s Advisors, Mulyadi Elhan Zakaria, accompanied by Regional Coordinator 1 Khairul Saleh and IKTN Riau Province administrators led by Norman.
In addition to direct socialization by meeting with miners at the mine site, IKTN led a limited meeting to establish a people’s mining cooperative. As a result, the Rentak Bulian People’s Mining Cooperative in Kuansing was officially formed and chaired by Mardialis.
Contacted via cell phone, Mardialis, who is more familiarly called Edi, said: “With the existence of PP 39 of 2025, we, the people of Kuantan Singingi, would like to thank the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, who has issued PP 39. Thank you also to the IKTN central team who have carried out socialization, so that there is a new nuance for us small people here, and we are ready to form a cooperative.”
The Head of IKTN Riau Province, Norman, also said: “Alhamdulilah, IKTN is well received by the community. We have also explained the benefits of establishing a cooperative, including legal protection, health, clear legality, as well as ease of obtaining permits and others.”
One of the IKTN Advisors stated that socialization and going directly to the mine site is a form of IKTN’s support for the Central Government in improving the downstream system of people’s mining so that it is directed and sustainable.
