Ahead of the upcoming election of the Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of DKI Jakarta for the 2026–2030 term, space for public participation has begun to open. Community organization Madas Nusantara, through the Madas Nusantara Institute, has initiated a strategic move by holding a press conference to mark the launch of an Aspirations-Gathering Discussion with Sports Federations (Cabor) of DKI Jakarta.

The statement was delivered during a press conference held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Madas Nusantara Pavilion in the Radar AURI area, Cibubur, East Jakarta. The aspirations-gathering discussion is scheduled to take place on January 2, 2026, and is positioned as an open forum to map the strengths of various sports federations, identify structural challenges, and collect public views on figures deemed suitable to lead KONI DKI Jakarta in the future.

The discussion carries the theme “Providing Input to the Governor of DKI Jakarta to Promote a Healthy Society, Sports Development, and Athletic Achievement.” All aspirations collected will be formulated into policy recommendations to be submitted to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, particularly concerning elite sports development, organizational governance, and the strengthening of a healthy lifestyle culture in the capital.

Chairman of Madas Nusantara, Jusuf Rizal, emphasized his organization’s commitment to actively overseeing strategic agendas of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through public discussion forums grounded in data and citizens’ aspirations.

“Madas Nusantara, through the Madas Nusantara Institute, will consistently organize discussions on issues related to DKI Jakarta. The outcomes will be submitted as recommendations to the Governor of DKI Jakarta. This is part of our role in monitoring the performance of the regional government,” Jusuf Rizal told the media.

He explained that the aspirations-gathering discussion is designed as a comprehensive problem-mapping process. Key topics include sports organizational governance, the potential and challenges of each sports federation, opportunities for performance development, as well as leadership issues, budget transparency, and financial accountability within KONI DKI Jakarta.

“We want to examine the issues in a holistic manner, not in fragments—from management and leadership to non-technical aspects that have often been overlooked,” he stressed.

Jusuf Rizal has a long track record in Indonesia’s national sports sector. In addition to serving as Chairman of PWMOI and President of LIRA (People’s Information Granary), he previously held positions as Director of Marketing and Promotion at the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) during the leadership of Nurdin Halid, as well as Director of Youth Development at PSSI. During the tenure of PSSI Chairman Agum Gumelar, he actively initiated various national and regional youth football competitions.

The discussion scheduled for January 2, 2026, is expected to involve 84 sports federations in DKI Jakarta, sports observers, and representatives from the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) and the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD DKI Jakarta) overseeing sports affairs. The forum is expected to serve as a critical and constructive evaluation platform ahead of the leadership succession of KONI DKI Jakarta.

Through this participatory and inclusive approach, the Madas Nusantara Institute hopes that the leadership transition of KONI DKI Jakarta will not merely be procedural, but will become a momentum for improving organizational governance and strengthening sustainable elite sports development oriented toward the interests of athletes and the broader public.
