The INDONESIAN (Banda Aceh)— Rifqi Maulana, S.H., Chairman of the Aceh Chapter of the Indonesian Law Students Association (PERMAHI), has commended the Provincial Government of Aceh for securing another Unqualified Opinion (Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian / WTP) from the Supreme Audit Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK‑RI) on its 2025 Fiscal Year Financial Statements. This marks the 11th consecutive year the province has earned the rating — demonstrating consistent progress toward sound regional financial governance.
According to Rifqi, the achievement deserves recognition as clear evidence of the administration’s seriousness in upholding accountability and transparency in managing public funds. Retaining an unqualified opinion for eleven years running is no overnight success; it reflects sustained effort across all government bodies to embed the principles of good governance.
“An unqualified opinion serves as a key indicator that financial reports are presented fairly and in accordance with applicable standards. It is a proud milestone for Aceh and tangible proof that regional financial management continues to improve year after year,” Rifqi stated.
At the same time, he emphasised that such an outcome must never be regarded as the end of oversight efforts. As BPK‑RI itself clarifies, an unqualified opinion assesses the fairness of financial reporting — it does not guarantee that all operational processes are entirely free from risk or irregularity.
He therefore urged the Aceh Government to further strengthen internal control systems, increase transparency in budget execution, and ensure every recommendation issued by the audit agency is followed up thoroughly and promptly.
“Eleven straight unqualified opinions should serve as motivation to deliver better public services, more balanced development, and spending that truly benefits the people. Accountability is measured not only by neat financial reports, but by how effectively public resources respond to real community needs,” he stressed.
Rifqi also called on young people — and law students in particular — to remain actively engaged in monitoring development and financial management through constructive, evidence‑based oversight. Public participation, he noted, is vital to building a clean, open, and principled government.
“Students must act as critical partners, offering objective input to advance the region. Where authorities demonstrate commitment to proper governance, the public in turn has a duty to supervise and support policies that serve the common good,” Rifqi Maulana concluded.
With this 11th consecutive rating, Aceh is expected to reinforce its foundation for professional, transparent, and accountable governance — essential to sustainable development and improved welfare for all its people.
