The INDONESIAN — The National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia, in collaboration with Waris Coffee and the Alumni Association of SMA 4 Jakarta (HIMALS4), officially launched the “Goods Donation Service”, an initiative designed to make charitable giving easier for urban communities by transforming usable pre-owned items into meaningful acts of kindness.

The launch event took place at Waris Coffee, Jl. Cikini IV, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (October 20, 2025). The event was attended by BAZNAS RI Director of Fundraising Faisal Qosim, representing BAZNAS Commissioner for Fundraising Rizaludin Kurniawan; Muhammad Randy Rachmadi, Owner of Waris Coffee; and Arya Sandhiyudha, Chairman of HIMALS4, along with other officials and guests.

According to Faisal Qosim, this collaboration is part of BAZNAS’ ongoing strategy to expand donation channels and make it easier for the public to give zakat, infaq, and charity in diverse forms.

Through this Goods Donation Service, we want to show that charity isn’t limited to monetary contributions. Usable goods, even if no longer needed, can still bring benefits and blessings to others,” Faisal said.

He further explained that all donated goods collected through the program will be managed by BAZNAS either distributed directly to beneficiaries (mustahik) or converted into economic value to support BAZNAS’ empowerment programs. “This ensures that every item donated continues to generate sustainable value,” he added.

Faisal also highlighted that the initiative aligns with the principles of circular economy and modern philanthropy, encouraging people to be more mindful in managing unused goods while caring for the environment.

BAZNAS hopes that this collaboration will become a model for future partnerships between zakat institutions and the creative sector, particularly in engaging younger generations,” he said.

In the near future, BAZNAS plans to expand the Goods Donation Service to various public locations  including cafés, campuses, and community areas  fostering a culture of giving in more casual and inclusive social spaces.

Muhammad Randy Rachmadi, Owner of Waris Coffee, welcomed the initiative as a meaningful contribution from the creative business sector.

We want Waris Coffee to be more than just a place to enjoy coffee  it should also be a space that inspires goodness,” he said.

He added that the presence of a donation point at the café will make it easier for customers and nearby residents to participate in small but consistent acts of giving.

We sincerely thank BAZNAS for this excellent collaboration. Hopefully, this small step will inspire other businesses to take an active role in social initiatives that directly improve community welfare,” Randy said.

Meanwhile, HIMALS4 Chairman Arya Sandhiyudha expressed his appreciation for the partnership.

We at HIMALS4 are proud to be part of this positive movement. Through initiatives like this, we aim to encourage our alumni network to engage in real, sustainable social action,” Arya remarked.
