Police Image Strengthens in Bengkulu: 87 Percent of Residents Satisfied with Regional Police Performance Under Inspector General Mardiyono

The INDONESIAN — Research institute ETOS Indonesia Institute has released the results of a public satisfaction survey on the performance of the Bengkulu Regional Police (Polda Bengkulu). The findings reveal that 87 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Bengkulu Police.

The survey results were presented directly by Iskandarsyah, Executive Director of ETOS Indonesia Institute, at an event held at Green Terrace, Taman Mini, East Jakarta, on Monday (October 13, 2025).

According to Iskandarsyah, the survey was conducted from October 1–10, 2025, involving 2,000 respondents across the Bengkulu Police jurisdiction. The survey carried a margin of error of 3 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.

“These numbers show that the people of Bengkulu still have a strong level of trust in the Indonesian National Police, particularly in the Bengkulu Regional Police. The public perceives that the overall performance of the Bengkulu Police has been improving,” said Iskandarsyah.

The ETOS survey also identified the best-performing divisions within the Bengkulu Police. The Public Relations Division (Humas) ranked first with 31 percent, followed by the Traffic Division (Lalu Lintas) with 28 percent, Internal Affairs (Propam) with 18 percent, and the Intelligence and Criminal Investigation Units (Intelkam and Krimsus) following closely behind.

“This indicates that the communication and public service efforts led by the Public Relations Division have earned significant appreciation from the community,” he added.

Iskandarsyah also highlighted that the crime rate in the Bengkulu Police jurisdiction remains relatively low, under 8 percent. He attributed this achievement to the effective leadership of Inspector General (Irjen) Pol Mardiyono, S.I.K., M.Si., who has been in office for only seven months.

“This is a remarkable accomplishment. The leadership of Inspector General Mardiyono has brought positive change and set a strong example for other regional police commands,” Iskandarsyah emphasized.

Also attending the event were Pascal Sirait, Director of Research at ETOS Indonesia Institute, Dwiki Eka Saputra, Director of Communications, as well as several media representatives.

“We will soon inform our media partners about the upcoming surveys. We hope the entire process runs smoothly and concurrently,” he concluded. (*)
