He emphasized that this mandate is not merely a personal honor, but a significant trust to uphold the dignity of customary traditions, strengthen social unity, safeguard cultural values, and ensure that local customs and wisdom remain a vital part of regional development and the reinforcement of national identity.
“First and foremost, I praise and give thanks to the Almighty God. By His grace and permission, I have once again been entrusted with this great responsibility to serve as Chairman of BMA Rejang Lebong. I hope to carry out this duty honestly, fairly, and wisely, bringing benefits to the community and future generations.”
He also expressed respect and gratitude to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) for continuously providing space to preserve the customs, culture, and noble values of the archipelago as a source of national strength.
“We thank the Republic of Indonesia, which always maintains unity in diversity and honors the customs, culture, and noble values of our heritage within the nation’s development journey.”
Appreciation and thanks were also extended to the Rejang Lebong Regency Government, particularly to the Acting Regent, Hendri Praja, SSTP., M.Si., for their support in fostering synergy between development efforts and the preservation of customary values in the region.
Similar respect was conveyed to the Regional Secretary of Rejang Lebong, Iwan Sumantri, S.E., M.M. (Iwan Badar), for institutional support, open communication, and the strengthening of harmonious governance between the government and customary institutions.
Specifically, the newly elected Chairman expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Bengkulu Provincial Customary Deliberative Body (BMA), Drs. H. S. Efendi, M.S., for his attention, support, excellent communication, and spirit of brotherhood in strengthening the existence of customary institutions across the province.
“I convey special respect and thanks to the Chairman of BMA Bengkulu Province, Mr. Drs. H. S. Efendi, M.S., for his support, solidarity, and commitment to preserving customary dignity and enhancing the role of traditional institutions as a unifying force for the people. May this synergy continue to grow and bring benefits to cultural progress and the welfare of the Bengkulu community.”
He also expressed appreciation to the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Rejang Lebong for their ongoing efforts to maintain stability, security, and law enforcement, while supporting a harmonious and conducive social environment.
Respect was specifically extended to:
– The Rejang Lebong Police Chief, for his dedication to maintaining public safety, order, and a sense of security within the community;
– The Rejang Lebong District Prosecutor, for his commitment to upholding the law while prioritizing justice and social order;
– The Commander of the Rejang Lebong Military District, for his service in preserving unity, regional resilience, and a spirit of nationalism.
He also thanked PORKOPINDO for its support, attention, and collaborative spirit in establishing dialogue platforms and settlement approaches based on the values of Restorative Justice — methods that prioritize deliberation, social justice, relationship restoration, and community benefit.
“We view the Restorative Justice approach as aligned with the noble values of our ancestral traditions: resolving matters through wisdom, restoring social bonds, and maintaining community harmony.”
He added that regional progress cannot be achieved in isolation.
“Collaboration is required between the government, law enforcement agencies, the military and police, traditional leaders, community figures, social institutions, and all elements of society, so that Rejang Lebong may advance, remain safe, preserve its culture, and uphold its dignity.”
Ahmad Faizir Sani also expressed appreciation and respect to all national and international customary communities who have offered prayers, support, and solidarity.
Special recognition was given to the Indonesian Customary Council (MAI) and its entire membership; to the Maharaja of Kutai, the extended Royal Family of the Archipelago, and traditional leaders from across the region.
Similar appreciation was conveyed to cultural partners and friends from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Sarawak, Singapore, the Philippines, India, and Bangladesh, who continue to maintain fraternal and cross-border cultural ties.
He also thanked all descendants of kings of the archipelago, customary associates, cultural partners, the extended family of Depati Tiang Alam, and the Trisakti University 1986 Alumni Association for their ongoing moral support, solidarity, and brotherhood.
Respect was also extended to nobles and cultural practitioners of West Java, as well as the extended Prabowo–Gibran Campaign Team on Imam Bonjol Street, for their spirit of unity and moral support.
Gratitude was also expressed to all kings, sultans, datuks, princes, queens, traditional figures, customary leaders, cultural activists, and customary institutions throughout the archipelago, who continue to safeguard cultural heritage and uphold the spirit of unity.
The newly elected Chairman also voiced his hope for all Indonesian citizens to continue preserving unity, strengthen mutual cooperation, and uphold respect for cultural values as the foundation of the nation.
He also noted that Ahmad Faizir Sani’s longstanding service in cultural and community development has received recognition and appreciation from various cultural, educational, and governmental circles, in recognition of his long-term dedication to cultural preservation and community empowerment.
Nevertheless, he stated that these achievements are not the final goal.
“For me, the highest recognition is not titles or awards, but seeing our traditions remain alive, our people stay united, the younger generation love their culture, and Rejang Lebong continues to progress with blessings.”
In closing his statement, the newly elected Chairman called upon all elements of society to set aside differences and reunite.
“Now is the time for us to join hands once again. Let there be no more barriers or divisions. What remains is our shared spirit to preserve our customs, protect traditional rights, strengthen relationships, and build a dignified, cultured, and progressive Rejang Lebong.”
