GMPC Polri Asks Kompolnas to Oversee Ethical Scandal of High-Ranking Jambi Police Officials

Allegations of an illicit affair involving high-ranking officials (PJU) of the Jambi Regional Police (Polda) and a female police officer (Polwan) have once again been voiced publicly. The Student and Youth Movement for the Love of the Indonesian National Police (GMPC) held a demonstration in front of the office of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) RI, Jakarta, on Monday (December 1, 2025).

The case previously surfaced after the child of one of the parties exposed the alleged ethical and moral violations. GMPC believes that the report to the Professional Standards Division (Divisi Propam) of the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri), which they have been monitoring from the beginning, has not shown significant progress.

The coordinator of the action, Syachril, in his speech, asked Kompolnas to also supervise and give serious attention so that the handling of the alleged code of ethics violation runs professionally and transparently. “We came to Kompolnas to ask that the alleged ethical violation case of Jambi Regional Police officials be seriously monitored. Don’t let the process stall without certainty,” said Syachril.

Syachril also mentioned the handling of the ethical case that befell the former Head of the International Relations Division (Kadiv Hubinter) of the National Police Headquarters, Inspector General (Irjen) Pol Krisna Murti, which received attention from Kompolnas until it was finally found guilty by the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) and transferred from his position.

“We ask the Chairman of Kompolnas to provide recommendations to the Chief of Police, so that the Professional Standards Division works professionally, transparently, and does not discriminate in handling this case,” he asserted.

The action took place in an orderly and peaceful manner. After the oration, representatives of the GMPC mass were received by Kompol Nasrul, as the Head of the Sub-Division of Clarification and Public Complaints of Kompolnas. He emphasized that the aspiration would be followed up procedurally. “We accept this aspiration and will immediately convey it to the leadership. Furthermore, a clarification process will be carried out,” said Nasrul.

GMPC Polri stated that it will continue to monitor this case until there is legal certainty and ethical enforcement in accordance with the principles of the Indonesian National Police’s “Presisi” (Predictive, Responsive, Transparency, and Justice) program.
