The INDONESIAN (Jakarta)— The Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Students and Youth Movement (DPP GMPRI) has expressed its support for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to immediately follow up on reports and preliminary data pointing to alleged mismanagement of funds at Bank NTB Syariah.
Raja Agung Nusantara, Chairman of DPP GMPRI, stated that the organisation’s preliminary inquiry and analysis indicate signs of abuse of authority with the potential to cause substantial financial loss. The amount in question is estimated at roughly Rp 4.6 billion.
“We consider it essential that law enforcement move swiftly and professionally to establish the facts behind reports circulating publicly. We therefore back the KPK in summoning and seeking clarification from the board of directors and relevant officials of Bank NTB Syariah,” a DPP GMPRI representative said in a statement issued today, 19 June 2026.
The group also called upon the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) to conduct comprehensive audits covering fund flows and transactions suspected of violating banking regulations and sound governance principles.
According to DPP GMPRI, information and complaints received from the public suggest unlawful conduct involving certain individuals within the bank’s leadership. Key concerns include:
1. Alleged extension of financing or credit facilities to companies operating outside the province of West Nusa Tenggara;
2. Alleged acceptance or use of collateral that does not comply with standard banking procedures and regulations;
3. Alleged management of financing portfolios inconsistent with established banking mechanisms — a matter said to warrant deeper official investigation.
DPP GMPRI emphasised that all claims must be tested and proven through objective, transparent legal processes, with full respect for the presumption of innocence.
“There must be no room for corruption, abuse of office, or financial management practices that harm the public and the region. We therefore urge all relevant parties to cooperate fully with any inquiries by law‑enforcement and oversight bodies,” the statement stressed.
The organisation pledged to monitor developments closely as part of public efforts to promote clean, transparent, and accountable banking governance.
To underline its commitment, DPP GMPRI announced plans to stage a peaceful demonstration in front of the KPK building in the near future, calling for accelerated investigation into the allegations made public.
“This action reflects our commitment to anti‑corruption efforts and ensures that every suspected irregularity that could harm the community is handled in accordance with applicable law,” the Chairman concluded.
