The INDONESIAN (Madura) — As part of the Song Osong Traditional Ceremony series of the Parupuh Palace Aryo Menak Senoyo Madura, the Great Commemoration (Haul Agung) of King Aryo Menak Senoyo was held alongside the commemoration of the Isra Mi’raj of Prophet Muhammad SAW on Tuesday (January 13, 2026). The event proceeded solemnly and continuously from morning to night as part of the Parupuh Palace Song-Osong Traditional Ceremony series, serving as an effort to preserve history, tradition, and deeply rooted Islamic values in Madura.
The series of events was centered at the Ghejem Palace Prayer Hall (Parupuh), Proppo Village, Proppo District, Pamekasan Regency. The procession began with a tomb visitation on Monday, January 12, 2026, as a mark of respect to the kings and ancestors in the lineage of the Parupuh Palace of Madura.
People from various regions across Madura also attended to participate in the halal bihalal gathering, the “ketopak leppet kalaban tumpeng” parade, Al-Qur’an recitation completion (khatmil Al-Qur’an), as well as tahlil (prayers for the deceased) and public religious lectures in commemoration of the Great Haul of Bujuk Ratoh Ghejem or Aryo Menak Senoyo — the first king of the Majapahit lineage who spread Islamic teachings during the Hindu-Buddhist era.
The religious lectures featured figures from the religious and traditional communities, including K.R. Miftah as the Traditional Custodian of Parupuh Palace Madura, KH. Musleh Adnan (from PP. Nahdlatut Ta’limiyah), Ustad R Achmad Jamaludin Al Firjani (National Qari from Madura), and KH. Ali Fahmi Rosyad (from PP. Miftahul Ulum Tlotok Pekalongan Sampang).
The Parupuh Palace also presented honorary awards to these religious figures as a form of appreciation for their dedication to Islamic propagation (dakwah) and the preservation of Islamic values.
“The Parupuh Palace Aryo Menak Senoyo has set an example of how tradition, history, and Islamic values are preserved fully and with dignity. This Great Haul is not merely a commemoration, but a bond for the nation’s collective memory of the identity of the Nusantara ancestors,” he stated.
“The unity of Nusantara traditions will remain strong as long as the spiritual values, culture, and examples of the ancestors are jointly safeguarded. What the Parupuh Palace has carried out is a noble effort that deserves appreciation and can serve as a reference for future generations,” he added.
Meanwhile, K.R. Miftahussurur Fatah expressed hope that this Great Haul would serve as a means of fostering fellowship and uniting all descendants and Madurese people wherever they may be. According to him, the Parupuh Palace is open to all Madurese figures to work together in safeguarding and preserving historical heritage, traditional arts, and ancestral traditions so they are not eroded by time.
